What are octaves? -Can someone teach me octaves?

What the title says.

Consider a set of two notes. One note is eight tones higher than the other note. This is what is known as an octave.
An octave is easy to identify because the two notes are basically the same, with the exception of one having a higher/lower pitch.

What are tones?

like pitches…

If you play a C major scale (CDEFGABC), you’ll eventually reach a higher C. The distance between the two C’s is called an octave.

In this C major chord (CEGC), the red notes are an octave apart.

An octave is the interval between one musical pitch and another with half or double its frequency.
