Give me a sec to find out what it’s called… Ok, its called “decay”. But Im not going to slap you because then I’d have to slap myself.
And yeah, prob to much… 6767 ms… HOLY CRAP! that’s 6.7 seconds of echo sound effects after the note…
And If you listen to the actual song, You could probably tell that its not reverb because he plays notes twice or hits the note above it right after playing.
PS: Don’t look Buckethead in the eyes in that video. You will asplode.
PSS: is my song a 0, 5, or a 10?
PSSS: Pandora won’t let me thumb up a song twice
Oh I know that song VERY well. Couldn’t tell anything about the reverb and whatnot from listening to it, though.
I’m pretty much the Helen Keller of mixing (did I go too far with that one?).
I don’t want to sound like a hard douche, but I’d probably give it a score around the 5 area. The drums and the bass were cool, I guess, but you left out a lot of elements in the lead guitar section that made the original piece so awesome. There were also some pitch issues here and there. Blah blah blah fuck me sideways on a sandy beach. It was awwwwwwright, dawg.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to edit my post up there so I don’t come off as a dumbass of epic proportions.
I <3 soothsayer with a passion. I seriously do. Buckethead is my god damned hero and all…but it sounded like you covered it with a fricking xylophone at a few points.
I know I wish I knew how to fix it. All I did was take a badly made tab and use soundfonts with a few vst plugins
And for liking soothsayer you don’t just get a cookie, you get a stack of cookies
Dude, its okay. I need to learn how to do this stuff. I Know it sounds horrible. That’s what DC did when he first started- except it sounded better- and look where he is now!
And DC, what’s a good amp vst to use? right now Im using freeamp, jcm900, slayerfx, and some other weird one.
I mainly use freeamp because of its pedals to add all the effects.
And roast, you know how weird the clean guitar sounds in notessimo? that’s the guitar I have to use to sound remotely OK.
Like I said - I use Guitar Rig 3 (though there is a guitar rig 4, which I’d recommend getting if you can find it). Tons of amps, cabinets, mic positions, mics, all of which are very customisable, tons of effects (distortion, fuzz, wah, reverb, delay, envelope - and more) - and the important thing - it sounds awesome. Oh, and it’s only about 80 MB. I’d imagine it should suit you just dandy. Just look at what it does to some normal clean guitar. Although, you can put it as a VST effect too, you don’t have to record a live guitar in.
…
No I’m not a guitar rig salesman, why do you ask?
Yes yes, I’m getting there.
If you should know anything about me though, is that I’m heavily unreliable (i.e, lazy) when it comes to… well, anything, which is why I never give myself deadlines to meet. It could come out today, it could come out next week, who knows.
I don’t know what the hell you’re t…cough talking about. Oh, and that MoR thing looks pretty awesome. I can’t find any downloads for it though. : (
Oh, and I should say to KD and Roast, just in case there’s any confusion - it’s not a guitar synth/sampler (virtual instrument) it’s just an amplifier and effects. And to use it you need to have a program that hosts VSTs (FL, Reason, Cubase etc.) and you can set it as an effect to a sequenced virtual instrument or a live recording if you have a guitar. If you’re still interested, go to that link up there ^^
No. Well, they can be, but those 18 gigs are just samples (lots of files of instrument recordings) and only a small bit of that (usually about 50 - 100 MB) is the actual program itself. If you call up a set of samples to use, it adds those combined filesizes to the total memory needed to “remember” all those samples. Well, something like that, anyway.
So far what Im thinking about synthfont is it is a FL that is less user friendly. but free. And think about how un-user friendly Flstudio is. But its free. Synthfont also has a piano roll Did I mention its free?
