The thing Clarissa was drawing at the beginning was the same picture hung up at the end of the story (which obviously implies that she was getting raped by her father) and with that “Mimi” thing on page 11 the picture was pretty much a cry for help. When the teacher asks “Are they having fun” in the picture Clarissa says “One of them is”. Same motive for the “You are probably misreading his intentions.”
Take a close look at the crayons on page 4 she pulls out.
Also on page 4 the first panel the dog humping her brother (who I also assumed got raped judging by some other hints later in the story) kind of foreshadowed what was going to happen. On the second panel you can see the dad’s mischievous looking face while he Carry’s around infant Clarissa.
The french toast and and syrup also represent something important I’m not sure.
Now I see why this belongs in the Creepypasta topic.

It has been reported that some victims of torture, during the act, would retreat into a fantasy world from which they could not WAKE UP. In this catatonic state, the victim lived in a world just like their normal one, except they weren’t being tortured. The only way that they realized they needed to WAKE UP was a note they found in their fantasy world. It would tell them about their condition, and tell them to WAKE UP. Even then, it would often take months until they were ready to discard their fantasy world and PLEASE WAKE UP.
