I think that what we can conclude from this is that males are more active in the forum, but not necessarily in the use of the actual notessimo program. On the other hand, the data might just indicate that most girls don’t like taking surveys. Who knows?

if you want the information to be more accurate, you could embed an IP logger on the compose page of the website, then at the end of each month run a dox (an IP search to determine the gender) and tally up the score. of course this is a much harder way than the survey.
