You both confuse the issue. Leet speak is correctly defined as, and i’m quoting from here, alternative alphabet for the English language that is used primarily on the Internet. Simply saying brb or lol is just like asap or faq, in the fact that they’re Acronyms. Therefore, you don’t look as much of an idiot saying brb or rofl as you do 1337 or ]2 3 7 4 ]2 I] (retard), despite the fact that those acronyms were probably made on the internet.
