What is up with you and dissonance? You use it so much… Not that that is a bad thing, mind you, but sometimes it feels like Notessimo can’t handle it, making your song not work in places… It’s really good,though.
Yeah, I know I use tritones, flat 9ths, major 7ths, and minor 2nds often, but I use them to show tension. Agreed, I do get carried away sometimes. I guess i’m just not reluctant to use dissonance, which can have negative results sometimes, but thank you very much for the note. I will try to avoid the over-use of dissonance.
By the way, if you are talking about sheet seven, i am planning to scrap that sheet and start over. Also I want to give it more of a mystic yet peaceful feel.
Actually, what was mainly bothering me was near the end of sheet 0 and measure 24 (sheet 1, measure 6). Now, those work if your going for that specific style/genre, so make sure that’s just what you want before you keep it.
EDIT: nevermind, I can’t find anything in sheet 0.

Yeah, I see what your talking about, but I intended for that dissonance to be there. Here is my new version, of this song, the only part I really am not sure on would be 8-9/11-12. The vibraphone doesn’t seem to work that well, though in my mind I know what I want to sound like…the only problem is transferring my thoughts onto a sheet.

The only problem i have with this song, is the random unfitting tempo changes and the mashing of some instruments such as the vox and some of the french horns.
- Voxs are…way too loud.
- Theres like 6 playing at once in the same octave D=
Also the snares on sheet 5 didn’t sound too well…
Yeah, honestly I have no idea why I put that there in sheet 5. I just needed to put some counter rhythm there. Didn’t work out too well.
One chord I used in this song often was what I call a suspended cluster (1,2,4,5,6,8) which is what I think your talking about. If so, I agree. This chord is more of a “Be there just to be there” chord. It just keeps the phrase moving and sounds powerful, little to powerful I guess.
I am going to redo 11-12 for sure, along with 5. The ending doesn’t match that well either, so I will be sure to fix that.
