I sure hope I’m not creating a zombie thread out of this but I’m just going to share links to two images ( same thing one’s original size, one actually fits on monitors )
Original ( don’t open if you have a slow connection the file is 3.9 MB )
Scaled ( half that size )

The scaled is my current background.

I’m open to criticism ( and yes I know that the cloud is green, and no I don’t know why )

I used Paint.NET for the entire thing. I followed some stickied tutorial on the paint.net forums. Here’s the link.
Granted I took some liberties and cut some parts out that I didn’t really like. It takes a very long time to do any effect when the image is twice the size of your monitor. Flattening it and saving it were also joys…

Here is a little “cartoon” I did using: watercolor pencils, watercolor paint and a little editing on my comp (just to get the back ground clear).

And heres an oil painting, (more my style) I normaly do watercolor, but I recently have started oil. (this is like my 8th oil painting or somthin’ xD)
