DD12's Swanky Shit B)

Lololol funniest joke of the year.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR MY COLLAB PARTNERS!!!

As of now, for at most a week, I’m putting all collabs on hold. I am sorry to anyone who may be dissapointed or upset.

The first person I’ll be getting back to is the one who’s been waiting the longest, he knows who he is. I will not be telling anyone but that person when I’m starting again, because I’ve bitten off more than I can chew trying to do 4 at once. So again, I am sorry.

I decided to end it at 12. Fucking deal with it.

Peeps who gave insight, who without, this would’ve died.

Im probably forgetting someone (if you were contacted conderning sheet 13+ then youre not gonna be mentioned.) so feel free to troll at me if I did.

Who is this person that’s been waiting the longest?

not you XD I dont want to reveal names without consent, and even then, I dont really want to.

Ok. I took a gander at your new song, but my internet is acting weird, so it kept skipping every few measures, so I’ll listen to it later.

That was happening to me too… I don’t think it’s the internet.

EDIT: Ok, why does Tempest sound like a song that would be in one of the old pokemon movies like Pokemon 2000? The ocarina gave it that feeling.

Ok. My ā€œnewā€ computer makes it hard to listen to BIG songs with lots of instruments. I turned it down to worst graphics quality and medium sounds quality to get a listen to this one.

The metal guitar makes it sound like it’s skipping a bit, so I was never sure if it was actually skipping, or if it was part of the song. I loved the drum thingy in the beginning, as well as the breakdown (it’s not seen too much here). My favorite part was the piano when it came in. Epic. Awesome. Some other 3rd word. I cannot describe how much I loved it in words.

I would give this 4-4.5, which is kinda what its at now (4.33). But I think my computer made it a harder listen for me, and it affected how I liked the song, because that ā€œskippingā€ metal guitar riff confused me sometimes.

I liked that song a lot. My favourite part was when the ocarina came in. Very nice though!

You know what really sucks about this song? Eventually everyone is going to realize that it’s best aspect is panning, and that just about every song on notessimo could be just about on par with this one if but a little panning was put into it. It truly is the ā€œDemi-Godā€ tier’s best weapon in making an epic song.

Which is to say that it is great. I for one am glad to see that there aren’t any 5/5s after 3 days of being on this site so it must be worth something. I think it deserves at least a 4 on my scale, but probably 4.3 is going to be my end rating. Here’s why:

Okay the song started with a drum fill. Because this is a lesser used technique it scores good value in my books, but it probably could have been better, only because I thought that the snares were mis-timed, even if the rest of the song uses that same timing. It just didn’t feel right…I don’t really know how to express that except for that I think that the third should have been delayed by another eighth note. But that would have been generic so…you know what? Nevermind. It was good.

So the song was rather progressive at the start, which usually leads to repetitiveness, which of course is bad, but this song wasn’t really repetitive. In fact it would have been quite a feat to make such a short song repetitive. However it’s good that you didn’t. It kep me on my toes, and I had little to go off of to get what was coming next. I didn’t like that I had to click sheet 2 to get rid of that glitch, thus making me start all over again, i would advise you to listen to your song in full before you post it please. However that doesn’t really affect the song and I was able to pick up and keep moving, as was the nature of this song, it was somehow speedy and slow at the same time.

I didn’t really like how high up the main string was, I really think it would have sounded better as a French horn or Trumpet #2, something brass. It’s not so much the riff as it is finding the perfect instrument to play it, and…you already have my opinion on that. Another problem I had was the metal guitar. Except for the beginning, it was too subdued to have a great impact on the song and therefore it was leaning more towards being an all orchestral piece, which would have been fine if not for the heavy drumming and incredible presence of the bass. And then the synth came in and I was incredibly confused. It just didn’t seem to fit for me.

And then there’s the drum solo. The song was well transitioned going into it, and then the ocarina was a very nice bridge into what I assume was the outro (Sheets 11-12). The piano truly was immaculate, and the ocarina had a nice presence in the end. In fact I loved the ending. But there was a fatal flaw. The ending had me wishing for more. Which I guess is obvious for such a short song, so instead of thinking that it ended too soon, think of it like this: When the ending came, I would have rather had it be a never-ending loop because the song was such a fun listen that I didn’t want it to end and I could have listened to it several times over without noticing. If that makes any sense.
So yeah. I give it a 4.3. Since 4.5 is the highest a composer can hope for on my scale, that’s a very good rating. I loved this song despite it’s obvious problems…And hope for a continuation of your own works DD12.

Holy shit, that must be the biggest review ever. 5/5

But I’ve voted it 5 stars three days in a row (insert troll face here)

I voted 5 stars again. Wewt.

scoffs at how terrible I used to be at this

Guys I meant actual POSTS containing the words ā€œ5/5,ā€ not votes.

You know, like this one:

He was voting your review though

Well F**k the bear. He must have bad taste in music.
