I can see your trying to make it more complicated then it should be. Stop trying to do that. Though this is a improvement.

Just fix the rhythm, it messed up in one of those measures.
Then add a melody.

Make sure your notes go on the lines (with the exception of 16th notes) and keep that rhythm constant.
