Having a Bad Day?

Could you go please into more detail on how you became happy again?

Basically what happened to me:

1: bawww im sad
2: i should stop being sad now, im wasting my time, this is just angst, everyone goes through this, etc
3: yay i bottled up my emotions! now i dont give a shit about anything anywhere, life is pointless (in a good way)! life is awesome! time to go destroy stuff!
4: whoa
im destroying stuff! destroying stuff is awesome! physics is awesome! whoa physics! the world is awesome! why am i here! why are any of us here? i was one of 30,000,000 sperm to make it into the embryo! im awesome!
5: woot life. this is awesome, i pity anyone whos ungrateful enough to hate their life.

So basically while everyone in my age group is busy coping with depression, I’m a few puberty-meters ahead of everyone else. Being theist somewhat helps too.

theres a post of the year, from roasty!

But yeah, this is exactly what I did, except im christian, lol.

That was helpful, Roastmasters
I know now the answer, to the universe, life, and everything (which is 42)

Seriously, I don’t want to be sad, but I have little voices in the back of my head saying,“Life’s not worth it”

I used to think the same thing
but again, take a few steps back. In case you didn’t notice, Life is Everything. You are basically saying everything isn’t worth it. If a few kids are fucking with you at school and it’s enough to make you want to (lol)suicide and throw everything away, then you need to stop being a fucking dumbass and realize that being depressed will not solve anything.

also lol

I can see how you came to that conclusion Roast, on life being everything, seeing as you’re an atheist, but as a christian I have to disagree. Look at it like this, we go through our lives, and if we die and then jsut fade into oblivion, what was the point of our life? Also, I find it rather depressing thinking that at any moment, I could die, and if God doesn’t exist, then there would be nothing left for me. However, if there is a heaven and hell, which I believe there are, then returning to heaven would be everything. Personally, I would like to be immortal and live on with all of my family members who i’ve known and even those i didn’t know. To me, that seems like a better life and gives me something to strive for. Without a God, what is use in living? Eventually we will all die, and then what? there has to be something else. Another interesting subject is this: Where did we come from? Scientists have their theroies, that we evolved from apes and such, but then where did they come from? It has become ovbious that organisms came at first in water, but where did we get water? Asteroids? My point is this, we cannot ever know how we came to be, and although there are many theroies, that’s all they will ever be. Theroies. You can’t possibly prove them, nor can you prove that God exists. But, in my opinion, I would rather place my faith in an immortal being who is all-knowing adn all-powerful, rather than mortal men who have no hope of understanding the ways of God. That is my rant for the day.

I DO NOT WANT TO BE DEPRESSED!!! I AM NOT DOING IT ON FREAKING PURPOSE!!

No, I said I was a THEIST.

THEISM as in BELIEVING in a definite higher being.
Atheism is the opposite.

But yeah, I agree with your post.

Alright, well then if YOU are not making yourself depressed then what is?

Excuse me, I misread your post.

No. Freaking. Idea. And did you read my message right? I said a voice on the back of my head. that means it pops up for no reason. When I’m in the happiest mood, it brings me back down.

who ever said people at school were messing with me? Good job on having no no feelings, too. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT GOES ON INSIDE A DEPRESSED PERSON’S HEAD IF YOU THINK JUST TELLING YOURSELF TO BE HAPPY IS GOING TO SOLVE ANYTHING. THERE IS NO WAY YOU HAD DEPRESSION IF THAT SOLVED IT FOR YOU! NO ONE WANTS TO BE DEPRESSED!!!

I’m probably gonna kick this thread to hell by disagreeing with your post. Oh no.

There is no point of life. Life emerges when the elements of nature bind together into a combination that could both create and sustain it. And when one’s life has run its course, it will end, and the body will decompose and provide food for other organisms. That’s all. Sorry if I offend your religion, but I find the concept of afterlife just a simple way of sugar coating this harsh reality. Trust me, I really wish afterlife is real. But faith won’t give any belief worth, now will it? The concept of afterlife lacks solid scientific evidence. No one can prove or disprove it.

And several billion other people wished everything in the world went their way as well. Wanting doesn’t mean it’s going to happen.

Everyone will find a purpose in life, whether its making as many friends as possible, helping the sick and the poor, or just being a nice person. You shouldn’t worry about what will happen when you die. At this point, nobody can say if God will be on the other side or not. The answer may or may not reveal itself.

I don’t know about you, but I rather trust hard researched scientific theories carried out by professionals as opposed to the opinions religious folks who yell, “God did it and that’s final” at every scientific question without providing any evidence for their claims. But that’s just me. You’re absolutely right about how no one can prove or disprove the existence of God. But doesn’t that diminish the credibility of the religion that circles around him?

So there you go. That’s my response to your rant. Just trying to find a way to avoid finishing my homework :stuck_out_tongue:

What has science proven? Tell me when they figure out where the big bang came from. Acorrding to them,“Something can not come from nothing” Then How about the big bang! If there was nothing before the big bang, where did it come from? Acoording to science, “the universe had a finite beggining” The what the heck started it! The energy had to come from somewhere. They haven’t answered anything compared to the Bible, which has over 1000 pages of proof.

Please explain to what you guys believe. seriously.

They don’t say it came from nothing. They say it came from a super massive ball of gasses that exploded and is expanding still.

Thats just one of their theories of where the big bang came from, but either way, Where the Heck did the massive ball come from! The universe would have to all ways been here for something to not have to have come from nothing. The only answer of what created it? God.

So what your saying is that because. Something cant yet be proven its impossible for it to have happened?

No, Im saying that to believe that atoms/energy popping up for no reason to me seems more absurd than God creating them.

I mean, How the Heck does something come from nothing without having some amazing powers? That would end up were athiests worship atoms.

I am now imagining a atom with a superman icon on its chest.

I just don’t get it.

No. Before the big bang, the universe was the collection of every atom in the current universe. It was a “Supermassive Blackhole” of sorts.
