How about instead having to switdh between layers, you can combine instruments like Dr S does in his mega man things(uses different layers.)

Cuz if that’s the case, I don’t see what the point would be… cuz you would still have to place all the notes down anyways, even if it’s on one layer. Unless Starburst can make it so that you can set the ‘defult’ note placed as a combination.
That is what I mean but I like to put all the different parts on different layers and sometimes theres like, 11 parts but some are the same. I do this so I can erase a part If it sounds bad, I guess it would be a bit unnessecary but it sounded cool at the time.

You can. I prefer giving one instrument it’s own layer, keeps the song more organized.

I just put all the notes I can on the first sheet then move to the next and so on.
I usually have guitar one layer one, drums and bass on layer two, cymbals on layer three, and other on four and up

But its hard when you need a lot of instruments.

i change what i have on each layer depending on the song, sometimes i’ll put more than one part on a layer if i’m sure they won’t overlap, but if they might overlap i’ll give them a second layer.
I put seperate instruments on each layer just incase the instrument repeats later in the song, I’d just have to copy that layer to the new part. Saves a whole lot of time, especially in a hard song like Speed of Light.
