Introduce Yourself!

Thanks guys. Btw, when I said I shared that song…I wasn’t registered for some weird reason, so it’s still under “guest” but it is mine, I wouldn’t lay claim to an 8-second bit of music if it wasn’t mine.

hello forums… now that i’m more comfortable posting stuff I may as-well introduce myself. I am 14 years old and play the alto saxophone at my middle schools band (soon to be high school band), I also have a keyboard, and a harmonica both of which I don’t know how to play but I goof of on a lot. I plan to make it to music college (if thats what its called) and hopefully become a composer, if that fails then ill probably be flipping burgers all day long. I started becoming interested in music once I got guitar hero about a year ago then leading on from that got interested in video game music (favorite video game music coming from banjo kazooie and tooie). About 6 month later I got mario paint and started trying to make songs(most of which had no detectable rhythm). But after watching a lot of mario paint videos and listening to lots of video game music I started to get a better understanding of music and so my mario paint songs better. Then after browsing levuses channel I stumbled onto a notessimo video and arrived here where I remain. So hello notessimo community.

I hope you become a composer, you’re definitely good enough.

Welcome anyway!

Don’t worry mrteddy, that’s our job to criticize.

Anyway, I guess I haven’t introduced beautiful me yet.
I’m 13 and I live in Las Vegas. Google, man’s truest best friend, helped me find Notessimo by some sort of searching manner [I typed in “Free Music Making” or something like that]. I started off Notessimo similar to mrteddy, I judged myself very often until I made “Haunted Hallows” and “Dreamworks” where I opened up my personality from there, which is basically a mix a sillyness and seriousness. From there, I never cared about criticism and soon became a mod for the site. From now, I use Notessimo as what it was used originally for me: As a hobby. I learned a lot from Notessimo such as Music Theory from random boards such as the actual Music Theory thread.

Oh yeah, I should talk about life now.
I’m currently taking some sort of honors school course, where I get High School credits even though I’m in Middle School. This means that I can later skip unnecessary classes and do something else! Now, I wouldn’t want to waste that free time, so I’ll get a job as soon as I can. If that doesn’t work out, I’ll just be chilling out on my computer. What I’m planning to be when I grow up is some ingenuous being of an engineer. That’s my school course by the way, engineering.

So, that’s me. Yeah. Hi guys, only after like 600 posts I can say hi.

lol XD
I remember I used to want to be an engineer… but not anymore… not anymore…not anymore… you guys don’t think im a freak for doing this right?
well welcome to this website octo hope to see good stuff from you

I plan on being a software engineer.

Erm… hi there.

I’m Michi, I’m fifteen and I’m going into tenth grade. I’m pretty new to writing music myself, but I’ve played instruments for a total of over five years now. I taught myself how to play the keyboard and I’ve played the clarinet in school since fourth grade. I’m also a fairly good singer. When I go to college, I plan on taking a Mathematics major and a Biochem minor, since Algebra and the sciences are my best subjects, followed by English. I’m also writing two books (which, if you’re curious, the first four chapters of one of them is on deviantART).

I’m fairly shy so it took a bit for me to come introduce myself.

Uh… So yeah. I look forward to writing better songs in the future and I hope you enjoy what I have to offer.

welcome to the community mich .

Hi! You seem pretty talented. I listened to your song, it’s quite good!

Thank you. :3 I’m still getting used to how Notessimo works, it’s quite different from other composing programs I’ve used. But I do quite like it~.

It’s the only composing program I can use. I’ve tried others but they’re all just too complicated. :frowning:

I do agree with you that they can be quite complicated. One thing I really like about Notessimo is the fact that it’s much simpler than other programs. I also like the custom note length and the large array of percussion instruments, something I don’t get with some of the other programs I’ve tried and/or still use (right now I use Noteworthy Composer 2 and it took a long time for me to get used to it, even still I prefer Notessimo over it).

Noteworthy just seems very non-visual for me. Although professional-looking.

Anyway I talk too much.

Don’t get me wrong, I like the program itself, but it lacks percussion, for one thing, and sometimes percussion is needed.

But you’re right. It’s boring-looking. Professional, sure, but boring.

Not as much as I do.

Do you have any samples of your music? :]

Pfft. As if.

I’ve written five original songs that I could make on here and remixed a couple but that’s only on my keyboard. I also have a ton of videogame music that I’ve put into notation on Noteworthy. -Working on Protoman’s theme from Megaman 3 on Notessimo at this very moment, heheh.- I’ll have more time after Tuesday (that’s my last day in school), so I expect to get more work on every end of my spectrum done, whether it be writing, drawing, or composing. So really it’s all a matter of me getting time to make samples up for people to hear (because I don’t buy software, just download). Plus, I’ll probably be composing more on this site.

I’ve compared making music to writing stories, because it is sort of like that.

I hope so!

I’d try to write something if I had more patience.

I bet you’d be good at it. Really. But yeah, patience is an issue, even with me who found her outlet in writing. Sometimes I get so frustrated I don’t look at my notebooks for days on end, ahaha!

I’m all too familiar with writers’ block on writing songs. But I can stick to daydreaming my own stories.
