OH YEAHHHH

Im sorry to be a necro poster, but i couoldnt let this go unnoticed. What is up with all this newgrounds stuff?
Although there is quite a few talented artists on newground i wouldnt say its a place to look for songs to convince a person thats trying to get into a new genre. With all due respect, alot of the stuff on newgrounds - even though some of the melodies admitedly are verry catchy - is VERRY generic…
Now, i realize this thread is like 2 years old, and that Roasty have eather picked up on the electronic genre, or abandoned it completely, but i thought i’d give my 5 cents on what might be a good song to show someone who wants to give the electronic genre a chance.
Here is a few tracks from a few different genres that i concider to be electronic music (or more commonly reffered to as techno)
Gareth Emery - More than anything
This version is actually a mash up of two remixes of the song, but it is one of my favorite trance songs of all time ever.
Trentemøller - the verrt last resort
An amazingly chill - yet verry moody - electronic track by an awesome danish dj.
Hybrid - Finished Symphony
A break beat track that is originally from the snowboard game SSX Tricky. I find the combination of glitchy beats and strings to be beautiful.
Mode Selektor -Happy birthday
A bit odd yet verry catchy track. The genre is a bit hard to specify but i suppose it has a hslight housefeel to it.
I could talk about bajillions of electronic music tracks that i think are great. These are just a few of them…
On a side note it generally saddens me when people look down upon electronic music… Some people dont even concider it as music… What most people dont realize is that there is much more to electronic music then just a generic 4 on the floor beat. Alot of artist put a shitload of work and effort into the music they make so its a shame that it’s mainly the generic shit that’s shown in the televission. No wonder people frown upon electronic music when all they see in the televission is commercials for the new “Afterskiing super deluxe party traxx!” cd
