Layers?

Hi everyone, I don’t know if this was already asked or not, but I was just wondering how to place 2 different instruments on the same pitch.

For example, say I want to place a snare drum on a note of C. But then, someone comes in and tells me, “Silentbob, you artistic stallion. Why don’t you put a note on the key of C with the piano!” While kicking him out of my room, I begin to think he’s speaking a good point. So I try and place a note from the piano on the same place with the snare drum, but it won’t let them overlap. It just doesn’t do anything.

I know it’s possible to do because I’ve seen the Mario theme remix song (made me giddy), and it has plenty of overlapping instruments. Somebody help me.

Thanks!

You’re looking for the layer feature. It’s the right-most textbox towards the bottom of the interface. Click the up arrow to change to layer 2. Icons on layer 1 will now blur, and you will be able to place another note on said blurs, you artistic stallion.

Huh, I just noticed this : hover over the layer textbox… sounds like Toki Wartooth wrote that.

Hi!

If you’re watching this tutorial i will tell you on how to use the layers.

Layers help you to put instruments into the same pitch, but it has a limit of 9 layers.

You can find it on the right of the tempo changer, so that’s all to find it.

Yes. Say that just in case when there IS THE EXACT SAME DESCRIPTION WITHIN THE THREAD >.<

Maybe the un-vocalizing Bob wanted a second opinion. Or maybe Hypo’s help was just too helpful and bob needed a less assisting wording.
