While I haven’t exactly played the original Yoshi’s Island, I’ve played Yoshi’s Island DS so that should count for something. In my opinion, I like this map theme over the original one. Once again, this is because I haven’t played Yoshi’s Island as a kid. I had a PS1, give me a break.
