Allow me to be the first one to say THAT THIS IS AMAZING
EDIT: I cannot believe it took me that long to catch that typo

If you don’t mind, allow me to speak my mind…

You would be the best notessimo composer if you would write some more original songs.

This of course is just my opinion, but writing covers only shows one thing… that you can use notessimo’s sounds well (well, you use them the best of anyone), which is GREAT… but… only goes so far. Please show us more of your music writing skills…

oh yea, this type of music is a hard style to write on notessimo and you did it perfectly. You use notessimo in ways never imagined. NOW WRITE SOME ORIGINALS!!! PLEASE!!!

V3 pliz…
Amazing

 See this is an outlook that I personally dislike. You can easily put a ton of work into a cover (And in your post you praise him a ton, so I know you see the work here) and people think that its necessary you write your own original work. If Ace, or many others like Clonefan, etc., enjoy that there is no reason they need to stop an write their own song. The attention to detail is proof enough of their skill. An original song yes forces you plan more at the start, but unlike a cover your original song doesn’t have an original version to live up to.

Basically what I’m saying here is that writing an original song isn’t going to make him any better. You’re going to see the same musical talent as you see in this cover as you will in the original song. About the only thing you gain from an original song is the ability to say you wrote it. And even then, your song could easily be a copy of a song made by someone else, somewhere, long before you.

Anyway, that’s my opinion on the matter. Amazing cover as always Ace. Can’t wait for the remakes of these games.

Not trying to keep this going as an argument, but I would love to add one more thing to my comment.

@Kamarai, I agree with a lot of what you said… but what I would like to add is there is not a lot, if any, “artistic” skill in writing a cover; all there needs to be is attention to detail. When writing an original song (and yes, it is hard to stay original… but not impossible) there is a creative side to it, in covers… meh… not so much. Making a cover, especially on notessimo, shows lots (TONS) of “production/mixing” skills… not a lot of music writing skills.

“writing an original song isn’t going to make him any better. You’re going to see the same musical talent as you see in this cover as you will in the original song.” It will not make him “better” at music, but it will sharpen a much different skill… creativity

again, I’m not upset at your oppinion. I hope you and Ace are not upset at mine :D.

IMO, original music is a sort of a representation of the writer. Some kind of a reflection of the person/people that wrote and created it. It also depends on the intentions of the writer and the efforts put into it and other such factors, obviously… but creating and writing your own music goes deeper than just being able to say “listen to this shit, bros. I wrote it.”

And i’m back on here because goddammit it’s summer and there’s nothing to do, might as well do something instead of sleeping all day and wasting away
