Probably Face Stomper by Hellstick

Managed to find some motivation to work a bit more on this.
I’m likely to add some more effects to the 8 new sheets, but that’ll have to wait for later.
Next thing to do is to add some kickin beats on top of the new melody (like the ones that lead up to the melody)

Nice!

And I don’t mean a “oh, that’s so cute, I want to bob my head politely along to it” nice.

It’s a “I want to smash someone’s face fancy china because I’m so hyped up by how awesome this is” nice.

Is this still unfinished? Woo, can’t wait for the next update if it is. :o

It is indeed unfinished.
I’m glad you like it:)

I really like what you added since last time. This is an amazing piece here.

Beautiful. Best drum and bass song on here.

Thanks kamarai! It isn’t the melody i originaly intended to use, but i rather like this one:)

And thanks to you too, dragon! Pushing notessimo to it’s limit is pretty much what im going for with this track, but weather i succeed or not will be up to you guys to decide.

Can you share some tips with me? That would be great! Like whenever I try to make dnb it turns out sounded stupid.

WHY WASN"T THIS FEEEEEEECHUUUUUUDDDD!!!11111!!!

Hey guys, what’s going o-HNNNNNNNNNNNG

Aliens, its kinda unf…

oh… <_>

Well, the key to making drum and bass is pretty much the beats. It’s what defines the genre so if you dont get this down then it doesnt sound like DnB. Usually the core beat will consist on a beat on the first measure of a bar, then a snare on the second and the fourth and then a kick again in the middle of the third measure.
Ofcourse there is variations to this (nothing is set in stone after all:) but this is one of the most basic dnb beats there is.
Just a kick and a snare is boring though, so after you made the beat described above you can add whatever details you like. Cymbals, more kicks, percussion, hi hats, you name it.

As for the bass: experiment. In this track i went for something dark because i am trying to imitate Noisias style as closely as notessimo will allow me, but like i said, nothing is set in stone. You could make an acoustic bass work if you make it right.

You generally need speed as well. I’m not sure about the exact bpm of this track but i would guess somewhere around 180bpm, which is fast compared to a lot of other notessimo songs:P

To sum it up: If you get the drums right you can do pretty much anything. Crank up the bpm, otherwise it’ll turn into some sort of weird dubstep or drum step.
Listen to a fuck ton of drum n bass and try to imitate what you hear, then base off your own track on what you learned:)

And thanks a lot for the support guys:)
