Suggestions for cleaning this up?

Woooahhh! I was going to cover this song! I’ve been on a Lapfoxtrax craze for a while now because of this song. it’s one of my favourites as well.
It’s pretty good so far, but I think you need to use different synths in sheet 0. The bass sounds okay, but then that little roll at the top such as in measure 8 of that sheet doesn’t have the articulation it deserves.
Also I think you need a more brash hi-hat at the end of sheet 1.
The drums in general, especially towards the end, need to be more pronounced and staccato in certain places.
Really hope I helped you polish it a bit.

I actually thought the synth I chose for the bass was good fit, but that part in measure 8 just makes it sound bad. The drums will sound more “sliced” like they are. They serve more of a filler here.
I actually thought about doing a mix of a few Renard songs, including this one. Like a medly. Maybe we could collab or something?

For some reason I’m not big on FIAB. Maybe it’s because I haven’t listened to any of his songs that aren’t on the On Trax Volumes?

Generic chord progression and such… many songs sound like this… you didnt write the song you just covered it… so, it aint your fault… its the composers fault.
That is just the chord progression. The composition, especially the melody, is fairly original. If it’s so commonly used then it shouldn’t be out-of-the-ordinary & not addressed IMO. Like how genres of songs use the same specific samples over & over.

I don’t want to disappoint you with infrequent updates so sadly I’ve gotta say no.
If you want to give FIAB a chance, I would highly suggest checking out the album Atomizer. I don’t really know what songs are on the ON Trax (never listened to a complete one), so there may be some repeats. Atomizer is an excellent album IMO. FIAB is my favourite alias though so I suppose I’m biased.
