Also QVX. It’s a great song, unique and powerful, shows different emotions, but it’s also quite confusing and doesn’t flow nicely.
By the way, this is just my opinion, and I’m not advanced at music theory so I may be wrong.
1 The melody (and other parts like strats) sometimes don’t fit with the chords.
2. Chord progressions could be better. A lot of the time you end your bars on iii which is a bad idea.
3. The D’s are a fourth from A and I think fourths sound unstable. You have a lot of fourths in A major chords.
The problem that arises from these is that the chords don’t sound pure and there is a lot of dissonance. I know you might not understand what I’m saying, but I don’t know how else to say it without using theory. But it has the potential to be a much better song if the chords were more distinguished and there was less dissonance overall.
Some ways to solve this, would be to use your ear to sense when things aren’t right, or learn what chords you’re using etc.
One thing I thought was very clever was the key change in the last note. But I don’t know if that was intentional. But there was another key change in sheet 1 which I didn’t really like.
Also personally I would have chosen a minor key, especially because of the sad lyrics.
Anyways, great song, but there are some issues that held it back, in my opinion.
