The Dance Of Eternity (Unfinished) by Dream Theater

Here is a cover I started a few months ago and never finished because I am waiting for v3. As soon as it is released, I will be remastering most or all of my unfinished v2 songs. I wasn’t going to upload this until I had about half of it done, but I started working on other stuff and never got to finish this so I am uploading it now because I haven’t uploaded in a while and I want to know what you guys think of this so far until I get to work on it when v3 comes out.

Can’t wait to see this song made, especially with the time signature options coming in V3.

Anyways, sounds great so far. I wonder if you’ll be able to make the reverse guitar effect in the intro, though.

I was wondering when you were going to post this. I almost forgot about it.

The only nitpick I have which isn’t completely about this song specifically, but about your drums in general. They need a little more attention…

It’s weird to see such good work & detail put into all the guitars & such, but then the drums are always just a bit off. Like when you do the double bass drums & every other hit is like 4-5 notes lower. I know you’re trying to add syncopation, but it’s too drastic. On a real set, you don’t want the both bass drums to sound different.

Here I see you noticed the panning with the first snare going to the right, but it just needs to go a bit further, and when the main snare come in, it doesn’t replace it, it’s just added. & I would say make better choices with the drums/cymbals &/or layer them, but V3 is coming.

For extra detail, really listen to the drums when you hear this song again, and notice all the slight panning in the toms & cymbals, how they sound & are textured. I have listen to & played along with this song like 300 times, I could help with this if you want. & Like I said, when V3 comes it will sound much better naturally since the drums actually sound acoustic.

& as for the reverse Metropolis excerpt, there will be a sampler.

I always spend a lot longer on the drums than any other instrument, strange to hear this, but I understand where you are going, I will spend a lot more time when I can work on this again.
