Both songs happen to be in G major, use the same chord progression, and, the melody is similar at some places.

However, I Gotta Feeling borrows from another track.

That was made in 1999, I Gotta Feeling was made in 2009.

It doesn’t really matter, a lot of songs have similar chords. I was just playing on my guitar some things I thought went together and the whole song doesn’t use the same chords
