I’ve noticed that some prick has rated 3 on EVERY version of R.O.S. (our collab) WTF?!?!?!
I don’t usually rate songs…and i didn’t that time…either way i would’ve clicked 4 :3
so can you give me some advice for drums they are the one part of music I can’t seem to make work, not like make it a metronome with lil extra things but like tricks and stuff plz
See…at the moment it just seems like SMASH SMASH SMASH pause SMASH SMASH SMASH pause etc. it needs some kind of beat to it. Look at our colab for instance (you need to reply to that PM btw :3) i could’ve just put in constant crash/snare/bass hits in. It seems to be the first thing that comes to mind…but you need to think about the beat and see if it really reflects the piece you are constructing. If you really want to practice getting better at drums…i guess for a start…begin with a simple beat such as:

Sheet 0: The most simple drum beat, base of almost every beat.
Sheet 1-4: Adding to the beat, each can be used in different ways (3 and 4 probably not recommended as if misused can lead you to sheet 5)
Sheet 5: What NOT to do…
Sheet 6: Be creative!! Thats my most used drum solo in R.O.S. and the last part is me being creative…i guess XD
With the simple beat, try rearranging it, the snares don’t have to be where it is. To master Heavy Metal Drumming, you need skill/knowledge/experience in the softer genres first…otherwise it results in a massive clusterf*** of spam… (lol someone should have this quote as their sig JK)
IMPORTANT: Play the section over and make sure it is one with the song, you may need to go through multiple drum beats until you finally get the right one…(take Muselline+my Overcome for example…for some sections i stopped for 5-10 minutes experimenting with different beats). Perfection takes time…and drums aren’t a last minute touch-up for your song
With the drum solos…i have no clue how to explain XD
In case you haven’t noticed…it is extremely hard to explain…there doesn’t need to be a note at every eighth or sixteenth throughout the whole song…also keep in mind that the drumming needs to flow with the piece, not compete against it.
First thank you for all the help on this, I know they aren’t a last minute touvh up for the song, they are the reason that I often fail out certain songs, because it needs a drum beat, and I can’t make one.

- The only problem i have with this song is that it is repetitive at the start (with the lower sounding pianos)
- I changed 3 things in your attempt: the position of the first snare (in each measure) back one, cymbals, and the toms at the end (my special touch )

Here’s something I had been working on back in October; I just added some stuff today. It’s a remake of a previous song.
Must say it seems you put a lot of work into making it sound as close as possible to the original. Keep working on it, it’s a great song.

To be honest, I kinda abandoned working on it; it didn’t seem like a “notessimo kind of song” (at least in my opinion). I guess I could start working on it again, unless you want to work on it that badly; do you? It seems like your kind of genre.
