I have yet to see this formula that unknowned uses (probably because I’ve listened to two of his songs), but this song is not good. I’ve heard of repitition, but this song screams “I don’t have a lot of creativity.” Other than that, I liked when the drum beat first came in. But sadly the off-beat riff wasn’t that satifying, considering it had about 4 notes in it. Overall, I give this a 5 out of 10. 5 points for: Drumming (not the opening though, that was boring), sheets 25-28, which I saw as a slow solo, with a good back-to-chorus bridge, and ending chorus, which is where you changed it (the chorus) up for the first time.

Not really, there’s not much different between this version and the version in the unfinished songs thread and most of what I had to say was posted there… which is exactly why I hate that thread with a passion.
I would just like to say that Circus express is probably one of my favorite songs on Notessimo. It is slightly repetitive, but it is brilliantly put together, and extremely enjoyable to listen to.
i dont like the pauses in circus express they should be a measure shorter in my opinion
I would like to point out that i heard a song a while back, i think it was called Factory…something, and I thought it was the best put together song in notessimo. However, I didn’t like it as a song, and its was put together to be in a factory setting, so therefore that is what I will be judging this song by. Circus Express is by no means the best way to put me into a circus setting, except for the intro, which was the only circus-like part. It was very repetitive, most of the intro was spent adding one part. And those song breaks where only a synth #2 was playing was annoying, because it didn’t carry any of the power from the last sheet, and then that power just all came back at once. If I’m going to listen to something enjoyable, it has to be heart-felt, slow, maybe sad, maybe happy, and not in the numerous genres of rock or techno. There is a big difference between enjoyable to listen to and fun to listen to. This song certainly fits the fun catagory all too well.
On the whole, it wasn’t bad, it looks like a lot of time was put into it, and I really did like sheet 16. Overall, I give this song a rating of 3.5/5 where a whole point is dedicated to the sheet 16,17, and 18 progression. Another point for the intro, and a half point for the out there instruments, such as the orchestra hit and metal guitar. A half-point is lost on the drums, which were too harsh to be a circus beat. And the another half a point is lost on the transitions between major changes in the song, which were probably the worst aspect of this song, and the last half a point is lost for a lack of creativity. Most sheets were barely different from the last one, just look at the changes between sheets 19 and 20, or 26, and 28 if you don’t believe me.
You mean Factory Panic? That song is awesome, would you believe if I said the kid that wrote it is 10 years old?
Also you made circus express seem worse then what it is. Personally, I think it’s one of the best techno songs on this site.
