That was nice. The progression was smooth, and the percussion was sharp and aggressive without sounding like an ear piercing mess. Those metal guitar stabs and drops were a bit irritating at first, but it really worked with the piece once everything got moving. I guess if I had to give it a score, it would probably be a 4/5. Overall, the piece was well made, but there was nothing new and dynamic about it. Nice work, though.
The only problem now is where this would go. The techno or the rock thread. =P
Big prob though. I am stumped on Mechanical Dukeout and Summer Crush.
If people would post how they’d do one little bit that be great.
Mechanical Dukeout and Summer Crush are both heading to the chorus.
I’ve already got a buildup for Summer Crush’s chorus but I am really really stuck on Mechanical Dukeout.
Even so, I’m not giving up my songs.
My advice for Mechanical Dukeout is this: I would make use of the Orchestral Hit because it is a boss theme and every boss theme should have an Orch Hit somewhere in it. Also, as I finished listening to the song in it’s unfinished state I noticed that you are in the perfect place for a song break. Make a sheet 9 but take away the high-hats, and add the orch-hit to the end of the last sheet (sheet 13) and through-out the song break in the new sheet, then suddenly bring everything back into whatever you want the chorus to be. That sounds like a boss-theme, right?
For Summer Crush, that sounds like the part where you last ended was build-up for a solo, I’d stick with the synth #1. Again, what you could do is take away the high-hats (or the entire drumset and then slowly put them back in, if that makes sense) and incorporate triplets or such and do what you want to make a solo. If you don’t want to make a solo there, my other suggestion is a repeat of the opening riff as the chorus, but with a lot more tacked on to make it fit. I’d do a solo though and then end the song by repeating the opening riff because it was pretty epic IMO.
Hey I’m just trying to help out. And you’ve posted three times now without saying anything helpful at all, Master of the Spam and Troll.
Huh. Critic-king isn’t too bad of an insult if you look at it the right way. Everyone asks for it, I give it, everyone’s happy. It’s just my way of telling a person who I don’t know that their song is being listened to.
Anywho, I’m going to put my REAL title in my sig. FROM NOW ON YOU SHALL ALL KNOW ME AS THE ARPEGGIO KING, REBORN FROM THE ASHES OF THE GOD OF EPIC!
