the reason it gives people a rather eerie spookie mood is because of all the accidentals (which isn’t bad, but it always creates a very scary mood for listeners). Accidentals are just sharps and flats that are out of key (btw what key is it? if you just make music by ear then don’t tell me). That plus the keyboard percussion (xylophones, glockenspiel, kalimba) just makes it a spooky like song.
I use only my ear…is tehere any other way…nope, not for me=) Ieven Use my ear when I play accordion, its my special skill. My teacher always complains to me not to learn notes by only listening but watching the notes…and its too boring always watch them
there really is no other way to do it than by ear… but some people set up somethings like whether there are 3 or 4 or 5 beats per measure or the key that its in before they start making a song. and that’s basically one thing that separates composers (other things would be the kinds of music they make like rock, jazz, or metal).
