Ehh, I think I’d change that to NOOBS>MODERN RAP.
I took the chance to listen to some older rap songs that aren’t all about “having a shit load of money and girls” or shit like that and I have to say it gave me a new look on the genre. I actually liked it. I guess that’s one thing all genres seem to have in common… the older the better. I really haven’t been able to find any modern metal bands that I like, maybe… 2, at the most. But sadly, metal seems to be a dying breed and the bands that call themselves metal now a days are nothing of the sort. Anyways, that concludes my sorta-but-not-really-rant. Point is, I don’t completely hate rap anymore. lol
Okay, I see your point. Some rap is better than others. But that doesn’t mean new rap is ALL about “Having a sh** load of money and girls”. Yes, I appreciate some of the older stuff, but in my view, some people decide that Rap signifies crime, violence, drugs, etc. But rap doesn’t have to show that, not all the time. Yes, sadly, Metal IS a dying genre, and we still cling to our precious Rock albums, fearing there dissapearance like the devil, but I feel rap is the new rock. It can tell a HUGE story in a short time, and it takes serious skill to write a rap, believe me, I tried once. My point is, Rap can be as good as anything else.
The only way that rap could be good is of they have a BUTTLOAD of instruments in the background… I hate music that has singing as the main focus…
And yeah, I think rapping is hard… especially when you put focus on syllables and rhyming stuff…
