This is a horror story I wrote for school,
itâs a mix between Assasins Creedâs Connor and Mad Moxxiâs underdome Riot DLC for borderlands.
The crowd were waving and cheering at the gory sights after round one at the coliseum. He regrets his behaviour after knowing what he has done to the place, the arena reeks of rotten body parts and Dirt, But he must push on regarding the death of his family. His family were happy people, but everything changed after the bandits robbed their home, everything was destroyed, burned or killed in the process⊠The reason why he is here is because the man who ordered the bandits to seize our home was a terrifying beast who lurks in the shadows and kills without question. His name is; Sledge, The destroyer⊠there is a rumour about sledge is that if anyone talks about him or threatens to kill sledge for that matter, will have their throats slit whilst they sleep. So rarely, it popes up In a conversation. Nobody knows what sledge looks like, but trust everyone, you do not want to.
Round 2 has begun, he picks up a dagger from a badly wounded warrior, A psychotic bandit runs in his direction, he dodges and decapitates the bandit, Blood spurts out of his neck, staining his robes with red. Another bandit stops him in his tracks, he throws the dagger, it punctures his Leg badly he stops and tries to heal the wound, Connor runs and rips the bloodstained knife out of his leg muscle, making it excruciatingly painful, Connor slits his throat. The bandit dies, he looks into the bandits eyes, the bandit croaks his final words: âKill⊠SledgeâŠâ He leaves him to die. a dangerous bruiser enters the stadium unarmed. Connor wonders why he unarmed, a flash of light beams onto the bruiser, a few seconds pass and the Bruiser has now equipped a very large weapon of sorts, heâs never seen something quite so preposterous in Connorâs lifetime!
He is now, Frightened.
I like it, although itâs too short.
Iâll work on it some more when I get the chance, my teacher hates my horror stories because I always take it too far⊠(>: )
[details=Click to expand]Chapter 1: Introduction
âI shouldnât have told herâŠâ âWhat?â âOh⊠itâs nothing⊠Never mind.â âOkay then⊠Shouldnât you be in bed, do you have a fever or something?â âNo, itâs fine. Probably just since itâs Winter⊠everyoneâs getting one, you know?â âOkay fine, but if it gets worse Iâm going to tell the school nurseâŠâ I just got to this new school; so I didnât really know anybodyâs name, so I didnât really know anyone that well⊠Mrs James was erasing the whiteboard from yesterdayâs lesson about Geography and other stuff that didnât make much sense. The other students were coughing and spluttering like if they were diagnosed with the plague, yet I was fine. I didnât feel sick at all, as the teacher started going on about where civilisation stands in our modern society, but let me explain what has happened first: Today was my first day of high school, well, first since Iâve moved schools. But today is starting to look like the worst day in the entire world right now, I was late getting to school and the weather said: Cloudy and Rainy all week âBut back to the plot of this chapter: I started thinking⊠Could it actually BE the plague? I looked at the window, a black cloud amongst grey- Darker than normal⊠It was strange, like a full moon. But if Iâve never seen one before. Was a peculiar sight Tâwas.
Chapter 2: Raiden
â I woke up in the middle of class, I looked at the clock, it was almost 12:00. I rushed my writing like if I drank 10 cups of Coffee. That started my learning gears turning, a group of girls stared at me if I was wearing a Halloween mask on my face. But before I knew it⊠They werenât moving, or breathing. They were paralysed! Unable to move! Stuck, frozen solid! I turned my chair around to my friend; he was paler than the snow outside. I jumped out of the chair and rushed over to see if he was still alive, I shook him to try and wake him up, I shouldâve said something before I tried force because he woke up screaming, he opened his eyes; but he had no pupils, just white eyes. He turned to me and spoke in a different register: âThe time has come, She must stop the plagueâ I shouted to him: âWhat, Who? Are you okay?â He replied angrily, as If I just stained his shirt. âCome with me: Mortal, we are going to save Earthrealmâ I replied wearily: âEr⊠EarthtrealmâŠ?â âIf I tried to explain it we will be here until time stops!â âI have a name you know, I can help you. I can take to get some medication or som-â âCanât you see it, mortal? The Netherrealm is taking over! And Outworld isnât making things any easier are they?â âOutworld? Netherrealm? What are you talking about? And what happened to your face?â âThat isnât important; Come with meâ We both went down the school corridor, as we both sprint down the hall to the exit I ask something: âI never got your name:â âItâs Raiden, I am the god of Earthrealmâ I reply: âOkay then, Iâm-â The door opens: a crowd of Beast about the size of basketball players are charging right at us, they have really sharp teeth that takes up more than Fifty per cent of their face and have spikes on the top of their heads the door is really close, I donât remember the hall being this long, probably since itâs crowded most of the time. âWhat do we do now?!â âRun! I have a plan!â We both run back, eager to leave the army behind us in the dust: Raidenâs plan unfolds: âWhen we get to the stairs, Split up! Got it?â âYes. Stairs, Split, keep sprinting for dear life, good planâ we get to the stairs we split up like the plan says, but just as we get to the top, they stop following us: âWhyâd they stop?â âIt doesnât matter does it?â âWell⊠It does a bit⊠but what now?â Raiden smirks: âThis!â Raidenâs hands light up in blue as he charges his power, Just as his power is full, he releases the charge, a string of lightning strikes the beasts. They fall down, spazzing around on the ground like a fish out of water. âWe did it!â âYes, but there is more, much moreâŠâ âWho were those guys?â âTarkantuan armies, built by Shao-Kahn and Shang-Tsung, Their leader are Baraka.â âOkay so, Shao-Kane, Shung-Soong and Burakaâ âShao-Kahn⊠Shang-Tsung and Baraka.â âWhy are we wasting our time? We have to figure out why Earthrealm is being invaded!â Raiden puts his hand on my shoulder, He looks down at the monsters beneath their feet; âWeâll take care of them later, I must contact the Elder Godsâ I reply sarcastically: âOkay: you do that. Iâll go see if my classmates have come to their sensesâ
Chapter 3: Reptile
I dash off, back up the hall, looking back at the confused warriors as they are dazed and losing consciousness. Before I know it, Iâm back in the classroom, panting and breathing heavily as I try to remember how I got back to class. Since all the classrooms look alike and everyoneâs uniform is the same -But enough of me rambling on about being confused⊠I see the teacher, the students: all pale white, taking short breaths, unable to move. Again: Paralysed. I look around the room for meds, Asthma inhalers, anything that will stop this horrible infection from spreading! I stare at the window. Two black dots on both sides of the window, staring at me⊠I stared closer: the eyes evaporated and now there is a body, then legs. This wasnât my imagination, but right before my eyes, there was a lizard/human creature, less than a metre away from me: âHisssssss!â the creature shouted: I didnât know what to do, I was shocked in horror that a green salamander the size of a professional wrestler was about to rip my head off by the looks of him. But I wasnât going to stand around and ask that, I knew I had to defeat this monstrosity! I step back slowly: âI donât want to hurt you, but I will do whatâs coming to you if necessary!â âHisssssss!â he makes an uncomfortable sound, like if you were sitting next to someone with a whooping cough, he spits on one of the tables, there is a hole in the table where he released his saliva: âAcid?! Seriously?!â he makes the same sound, but heâs pointed straight at me this time! I make a dash for it, I run back to the place where Raiden shot a bolt at those monsters that were chasing us before: as I run back, I Pray that Raiden is almost done with his conference with his Elder Gods. The Reptile being is chasing after me, except he isnât running straight; heâs charging shoulder-first, which gave me an idea: âHey! I bet you canât catch me no matter how fast you run!â I yell: That really made him angry, how heâs charging even faster, I wish I though the plan more thoroughly because I really wish I hadnât said that, most of the adrenaline has left my body and now my legs are starting to get tired: The Beasts are just up ahead, but instead of being weak and vulnerable, theyâre standing up, pacing as nothing ever happened. Still pondering seamlessly confused, but Aided. I shout something random to get their attention: âBaraka!â for some reason they snap out of their confusion and make a wall of all 12 monsters, except now they have blades that come out of their arms, sharp metal blades, I was curious about how they hid them, but there was no time for wondering, I had to get this guy to stop chasing me, I skid a sharp turn to the right, still waiting for him to follow me. But he keeps running forward, but before I knew it, the blades skewer him, green blood oozing from his lifeless body. Eyeballs hanging form sockets from a knife to the top of the skull: and both of his arms are cut off, looking at the red and green flesh of the blood on the blades and his own flesh. A real bloody mess. Spurting from his hips and holes in his face. Horrible is the only word that comes to mind. Just pure horrid. All their blades retract back into their arms. They all walk to me, I was scared, I didnât know if I just killed their leader or their enemy. They form a circle around me, now Iâm scared; all I can think about is Raiden zapping these guys silly with his shocking power. All of the beasts bow before me, as if Iâm some kind of king: A flash of lightning blinds my vision momentarily; Raiden appears before me, Unhappy. I had a slight urge to question the god. But I knew what the results were and I was unhappy too.
Chapter 4: The Portal to the Netherrealm
The guard that were below my feet, now surround Raiden, he doesnât react. But I try to tell the blade beings that he is with me, not my enemy. But these guys will not stop, they continue flashing their blades as close to Raidenâs face as possible. But what is worse is that itâs close to his neck, torso and forehead, instant kill zones on the body. Raiden still ignores them; âThe elder godâs have failed me. They said that the rules havenât changed, Shao-Kahn is merging Earthrealm and Outworld;â Raidenâs voice darkens: âEarthrealm is doomed.â The guards form a parallel passage, a portal opens at the back and 2 people (I think theyâre people at leastâŠ) walk out, one is old and has a brown beard and ponytail, wearing a classy gi and the other is wrapped in black and grey bandages and has glowing green eyes. Sort of like a mummy. âQuan-Chi and Shang Tsungâ Raiden says, fairly upbeat even though very sad. I protest: âShang Tsung? Isnât he the guyâŠ?â Raiden pinches me. I let out a small squeak in pain. âI apologiseâ as theyâre still walking towards us, they stare at the remains of the reptile creature. Stomach, Pancreas, squished brain with little chunks all over the place in a green bloody liquid form; like crushed bug guts. I whisper to Raiden: âis he one of the bad guysâ âYes, he is one of Shao-Khanâs servants.â âAnd the other guy?â Shang-Tsung and his bandaged friend are standing face to face from us. Shang-Tsung raises his hand, I flinch because I thought he was just about to hit me, then he points at the puddle of the fresh remains. âWho killed Reptile?â his voice echoed all through the corridor. Raiden put his hand on my shoulder and nods. âI⊠I did.â Quan-Chi whisperâs to Shang-Tsung, but is inaudible to my ear. Shang-Tsung lets out a short chuckle, Raiden stands back a step, I do the same. âThe portal will be closing soon, give us the boy, we will train him.â Raiden protests: âWhat? But what about everyone else, we canât just do anything as theâŠâ Quan-Chi interrupts Raiden: âGive us the child now! Or you will face death!â I alert Raiden: âWait, what?!â Raiden might as well die now anyway, he was at the verge of tears -he sighs and agrees with the two emperors: âTake him⊠Train him.â Everything went black. I was in the middle of an argument about selling me to evil sorcerers! How could I react, how should I have reacted? Should I have run? Or let them turn me into a killer? I was scared, I donât know why. I wasnât scared during fighting reptile, when he was about to release a load of acid all over me. Or when we were being chased by Tarkantuansâ. I couldnât really do anything. Not while in the middle of this, I just wanted to go to school today, just a normal day, without creepy bad guys with teeth, without reptile creatures spitting acid, and without my friends being frozen for the rest of their lives! Thunder booms from above. Shang-Tsung hurries us: âNow, hurry! There isnât much time left!â Raiden agrees again. âItâll be fine.â I rush over to the portal, a few feet from it. âCâmon guys! Hurry!â Quan-chi and Shang-Tsung look at each other and nod. We all rush over to the portal (Including the Tarkantuans that were bowing the whole time.) -and walk through it, the portal closes. Leaving no trace of anything ever happening.
Chapter 5: Meeting my Trainers and KitanaâŠ
Have you ever been sucked through a portal? Because itâs really fun. Itâs like being in a really fast rollercoaster. Or being in a wind tunnel. But nevertheless: We finally get through the portal and get to the other side. Four people are awaiting our welcome, an overweight man with a brown ponytail and is drinking alcohol; an average sized man with a beard and short brown hair with a metal plate that takes up more than 30 per cent of his face, a tall attractive woman wearing a blue cosplay-ish outfit with straps and blue glove-sleeves. And finally a⊠well⊠Iâm not sure of the gender, but it sure is scary: A black skull-like mask with a grey eyes and black chest armour. Shang-Tsung interrupts my panoramic view of looking at the warriors by standing in front of me. âThese fighters are your trainers, treat them with respect, unlike⊠Reptile.â The woman gasps sharply. I reply: âGreat! When do I start?â I throw a few short punches to the air. Quan-Chi responds sarcastically: âWhen face Shao-Kahnâ Everyone explodes into laughter, as if I just sat on a âwhoopee-cushionâ. I ask a serious question with a creaky voice. âWh⊠Whoâs Shao-Kahn?â everyone stops laughing and looks at me suspiciously, as if Iâm smuggling a weapon in my pocket. The man with the Titanium face says in a cold Australian accent: âThatâŠUh⊠HeâŠâ The black armoured ghost/thing interrupts: âThat isnât important right now, Kanoâ âNever mind, forgot I askedâŠâ Shang-Tsung changes the subject: âIâll show you how things work here, first, these people are your trainers, he moves his hand towards the 4 people. Bo-Rai-Cho, he will be your attack and defend teacher:â Bo-Rai-Cho greets me: âItâs been a while since Iâve had some new students.â He moves his hand down to the next fighter: âThis is Kano, your weapons guide.â Kano greets me the same was Bo-Rai-Cho did: âGâday mate.â He moves his hand the same way he did the last two times: âKitana, your weapon enthusiast and special attack teacher.â She greets me sarcastically and harshly: âI appreciate you killing one of our friends; I promise I wonât go easy on you after what you did.â As she flashes her fans with knives attached to them. I reply sarcastically as well. âNice to meet you too, Kitana.â Shang-Tsung is feeling unpleasant: âThis is your final teacher: Noob Saibiot. He will accompany you and give you tips on winning your battles. I try to remember their names: âSo itâs: Bo-Rai-Cho, Kano, Kinana and⊠NoobâŠ?â Noob Saibot thinks Iâm showing off my knowledge. He replies sarcastically: ââŠSaibotâ I reply: âYes, Noob SaibotâŠâ I roll my eyes and ask another important question: âOkay, now I know my trainers. Where am I going to sleep or eat? Or go to the bathroom?â Quan-chi answers me: âYour cell is equipped with food and a tolerable bathroomâ I remembered one insignificant detail in that sentence: âcell?â Kitana becomes aggressive: âYeah genius, where do think we sleep in this place?â Bo-Rai-Cho tries to calm her: âOh come on Kitana, lighten up. Shujinko just wants to save his friends.â I reply confused about Bo-Rai-Choâs chosen words: âBo-Rai-Cho, how did you know my name?â Bo-Rai-Cho replies encouraged: âWell itâs not like we werenât expecting you, we also knew that you can save your schâŠâ Kano takes a sharp dagger from the back of his boot and puts it up to Bo-Rai-Choâs neck; I was calm even though my battle teacher couldâve died: âKano, donât you think thatâs a bit excessive?â Kano replies: âNo, not at all, mate.â Kano releases his Bo-Rai-Cho and throws him in the other direction, making him nearly trip. âYour training starts in the morningâ said Shang-Tsung; âWait, wait, wait⊠How early? Is there some ancient 2:00 am ritual fight I have to attend or something?â Kitana protests: âHeh heh, he appears to have found the catch, not bad newbie, not bad.â âSo where is my⊠cell?â I asked. âJust down this alley; Right at the end.â Noob spat; mumbling under what Bo-Rai-Cho said. I thank them kindly for their services; (Except Kitana) âand walk down to my cell. âItâs pretty nice for prison containmentâ I said out loud, hoping someone heard me. âItâs even better when you see the rest of itâ I make a short smirk and turn around. Bo-Rai-Cho is standing behind me, drinking whiskey out of a silver flask.
Chapter 6: Bo-Rai-Choâs Conversation
I wasnât going to question him on why he was drinking or why he was behind me. I walked up to him and tried to start a conversation, I tried to come up with something interesting but all that came out was: âDo you know what Kitanaâs deal is?â he stared at me, exactly the same way as he did when I asked who Shao-Kahn was. âShe has had a very complicated life so farâ I was surprised that he wasnât eager to change the subject: âWith her mother and her fatherâŠâ I was curious why he said âFatherâ so differently. âWho is her father?â I asked softly: âShao-Kahn.â âShao-Kahn? The bad guy? I see where she gets herâŠâ Kitana storms in the room, even more angrily than when I greeted her. I stand up. As if I were about to perform a battle stance. Bo-Rai-Cho still sitting and sculling alcohol like if it was water from a youth fountain. âOkay newbie, I donât know how you did it, but I want to know how you killed him.â âKilled whoâ I asked just as soft as I asked Bo-Rai-Cho: âReptile.â âOh, that guy.â âYeah, that guyâ âI had some helpâ Kitana grabs me and lifts me by my collar: âWho, helped, youâ I wanted to come up with something sarcastic, or make her even more mad like bringing up her father; I couldnât bring myself to do it, especially how attractive she was. âTarkantuans.â âTarkantuans? I KNEW you couldnât have done it on your own!â âSo? Whatâs the big deal, itâs not like he wasnât going to lead me to endless happiness or anything.â She grabs her blade-fan and shines it inches from my face; then she puts her face inches from the fan: âBetter watch your back newbie!â I poke the fan to try and annoy her, even though I just got a death threat from a godlike warrior. One of the blades poke her face and she starts bleeding, she retracts the fan from my face and walks backwards, putting her hand to her face to try and aid her bleeding. âYouâre DEAD newbie!â âMy name is Shujinko!â âAnd I donât care!â she sprints away, looking for some first aid. âYou shouldnât have done that Shujinko, she is very bad tempered.â I calm down and reply: âYeah, I hope I didnât ruin her face tooâŠâ Bo-Rai-Cho takes another sip of the poison and releases a short chuckle. âYou know Shujinko; she only likes true fighters.â âWait. Do you seriously think thatâŠ?â âI know those eyes Shujinko; Iâm not a stranger to loveâ I accept his compliment. âShould I apologise.â âLet her simmer for a bit. Then let her come to you.â I reply at the same time as Bo-Rai-Cho: âSheâll come back, they ALWAYS come back.â We both look into each otherâs eyes silently and then laugh hysterically. Kano comes into the cell: âBo-Rai-Cho says you should get some sleepâ He turns to Bo-Rai-Cho: âBo-Raptor; we got to talkâ I reply: âBo-Raptor?â âWhat? We come up with silly nicknames, lighten up Shoe Junkie.â âShujinko.â I make a stern, serious face. Kano is now offended: âFine, mate; just having some fun is all.â He turns and walks away the same way Kitana did: âYou shouldnât have done that Shujinko.â I turn and look at Bo-Rai-Cho: âYouâre right, I should apologiseâŠâ âNo need. -He is your trainer.â I reply rhetorically âAre you saying that trainers donât feel emotion?â Bo-Rai-Cho âWell. Yes⊠And NoâŠâ âI was trying to make a joke, there.â âI donât see the humour.â I go silent. Feeling embarrassed, I didnât say a word; Bo-Rai-Cho must have thought I was tired because he took one last swig from his flask and left. I think he was tired too, I thought to myself. I should lighten up. But how could I? I killed a Reptile man, got chased by âTarkantuansâ; a plague is spreading, Raiden is gone, Shao-Kahn is merging Earthrealm and Outworld. And god knows WHAT ELSE. I walk into my cell, itâs really nice. Not the best luxury suite; But a tolerable cabin. It has grey plastered walls (Which is surprising since itâs a cell after all) âA sink, a toilet, an air-duct for an air-conditioner or heater. I turn around, there is a note on the door; I rip the note off the door, leaving some of the shredded paper stuck to the door: âThese are your daily regulations: â8:00am Training, 12:00pm Weapon Crafting Class, 2:00pm Brawl Tournament, 5:00pm Open break until 10:00.â
Tolerable regulations; I turn the page around: âBest regards: Raiden and Bo-Rai-Cho.â
I let out a short smile then I remember that I have to train tomorrow. I turned out the lights and lied on the sleeping bag that was already on the floor when I walked in; I just sat there, thinking about my accomplishments and achievements today.
Chapter 7: The Next Day.
The next day arrives sooner than I expected. A bell tolls and Iâm out of bed like a Mexican jumping bean, I was already wearing the same clothes as the day before, I wasnât feeling tired, I was pumped. I was ready for a new day. I stand up and go to the sink to wash my hands, (Thatâs a normal thing to do when you get up in the morning, right?)I finish cleansing my fingers then I turn around to dry them. Kitana is leaning on the wall inside my cell. âYouâre up early, sunshine.â âYou were watching me the whole time?â âWhy? Would that make you-â she slides closer to me and her voice changes to a lower register: âUpset?â I reply as if she was looking to spar: âYou really think that someone who was watching me sleep would make me-âI pause the same way she did: âUpset?â She scoffs at me and leaves. I think to myself: âSheâs not very good at solving her own problems.â I walk down the hall, eager to learn some fighting techniques in âAttack and Defenceâ class today. The corridor feels longer than it felt like before. I make my way up to the AAD room. Bo-Rai-Cho is meditating with candles surrounding him. I decided to sneak my way around the room for a better view, without disturbing Bo-Rai-Choâs spiritual slumber. I shimmy my way around the room until I can get to an acceptable angle, yet doing this silently is difficult. I managed to see most of the dojo enough to describe in detail: There is a blue mat with a red line on the perimeter of it, training dummies made of a kind of wood, a meditating corner (Where Bo-Rai-Cho is.) and an armoury with swords and shields made from plastic to diamond. I take a minute to absorb some of my surroundings. âAre you ready for your training Shujinko?â That made me jump; I fell over on my back and started squirming like a beetle. âYou can see me?â âOf course!â âHow?â âBecause I can sense.â âBy meditating?â âYes, but it was difficult, Shujinko. You were silent. You can use that ability in battle.â âWait, battle? You meanâŠ?â âWhat do think attack and defence class is for, genius?â I turn around; Kitana is leaning on the hollow entrance of the dojo. âAre you always stalking me?â Kitana disagrees: âWhy would I be stalking you? You killed reptile, I have no interest in people who are not afraid to kill.â âYouâre not afraid to kill me.â Kitanaâs voice darkens, similar to Raidenâs: âTry meâ Bo-Rai-Cho stands up: âAh, well, we seem to have an invitation to fight.â âWe?â âWell, you⊠Kitana; if youâre going to battle Shujinko, try to make it as less-bloody as possible.â âBattle? Bloody? Bo-Rai-Cho, I justâŠ!â Bo-Rai-Choâs eyes squint: âJustâŠâ Kitana rolls her eyes: âIt appears the newbie is just a little chicken.â Kitana starts imitating chicken noises. I get really annoyed: âFine; letâs fight then!â Bo-Rai-Cho started quivering; like if he knew Kitana wouldâve decapitated me right now with her shiny knife-fan. I took some steps back. Hoping that Bo-Rai-Cho would break eye contact with me. Bo-Rai-Cho walks over to Kitana and whispers something to her. It sounded important. But I wasnât going to follow Bo-Rai-Cho and shout: âHEY WHAT GOING ON OVER HERE?â Bo-Rai-Cho snaps out of his confusion and continued where his sentence was: âYou fight during the tournament, later today.â I bow to my teacher, Bo-Rai-Cho bows as well; I think I was starting to get the hang of Attack and Defence class I thought to myself; After I walk out the exit (Which is also the entrance.) âWhere Kitana is. She looks at me; (Which isnât down or up since weâre about the same height) I slightly jog in the other direction; weapon crafting class was about to start.
Chapter 8: Weapon Crafting Class
I found the room and sure enough: Kano is sitting in a giant chair. Crafted out of a crocodileâs skin and bones. I walk inside the classroom eager to know that this will go better than the last affair. The room is filled with taxidermied animals and a similar weapon collection as the AAD dojo. Except this has a transparent plastic dome around it, so nobody would steal them. Kano turns his giant chair around to see me: âShujinko, Itâs about time you got here, mate.â âWhat do you mean, Iâm on time; right? âYou are; Iâm just inpatient.â Kano bursts into laughter. I didnât know to laugh along or keep silent. I kept silent. Kano reaches under his desk and pulls out a big bar of steel. âSee this bar of metal, mate?â I reply rhetorically: âYes, you make things with it.â Kano likes my attitude: âLittle cheeky there, mate.â Kano continues: âToday I expect you to make this into a weapon.â âYou mean like a sword?â Kano replies sarcastically: âYeah, like a sword.â âAre you going to explain how these machines work?â I look at all the metal presses and crafting units surrounding the room: âIâll let you figure that out on your ownâ I give him a look as if he just stole my wallet. âWill you at least give me some welding gloves?â Kano replies sarcastically: âSure, wouldnât want to get hurt while making weapons that kill other people now would we?â I still give him that sharp look. âIt IS my first day Kano; you can give me a chance.â Kano scratches his chin in un-amusement; âYou see all those weapons, Shujinko? Those were crafted by my students. Without safety, without warning and definitely without little girly welding gloves!â Now Kano was starting to get aggressive: âDid anyone get hurt?â âOf course!â âDid you aid them?â Kano tries to change the subject: âThat isnât important, Shujinko.â âFine; who were your students?â I fold my arms and smirk. âI had lots of students!â âDo you remember their names?â âNo, but theyâve carved it into their work; see?â I look at the weapons more closely: I read the names aloud: I stared at the first weapon, it was a sword; a basic sword made out of the metal; Kano supplied me with. It had the initials: N W. I try to remember who would be have the initials; N W. âKano, whoâs; N W?â Kanoâs eyes brighten, but he keeps the same dark voice register: âNightWolf. He was one of the good onesâ âDo you know what happened to him?â Kanoâs expression darkens: âNobody ever knew what happened to him, when we knew he was gone. It was probably to be one with the spirit.â âWhich spiritâŠ?â âThe spirit ofâŠâ Thunder booms, a ray of lightning surrounds us, blinding my vision momentarily. Itâs like being hit with a flash bang! Raiden appears:
Chapter 9: NightWolf
âRaiden! How did youâŠ?â âShujinko, I know what happened to NightWolf.â Kano is surprised; not that Raidenâs here, but because he knew what happened to NightWolf: âWhat happened to him? What do you know?â Raiden squints his eyes; he teleports behind himself and catches Kitanaâs wrist before it dealt any damage to Raiden. âStill training Kitana?â I am surprised: âRaiden, you know her?â Kitana buts-in: âNewbie, we went here together.â âHow come I was the last to know?â âBecause we like to mess with the new guy.â I scoff and look back at Raiden Kano is still relaxing in his chair. Day-dreaming about what Raidenâs news will tell: âRaiden, continue.â Raiden clears his throat and begins to speak: âThe day NightWolf left is when that stormy night was.â Kano remembers: âI remember that day. That was the day when Shao-KahnâŠâ Kano frowns: âIâll leave it until later.â Raiden continues: âThat night when the thunder boomed and the lightning crackled, NightWolf felt alive, rushed from the adrenaline of the night; he went outside to enjoy the night and savour the moment. Then he thought to himself: âI want to be one with the spiritsâ â Raiden pauses his sentence; Kano rushes him: âCome on, what happened next?â âThe spirits took himâ Everyone gasps, except me. Kitana backs away slowly. âI shouldâve known⊠He was obsessed.â She holds her head and her heart. Everyone is questioned. Kano is the first to speak: âThat makes sense, Raiden.â I question Kano: âDonât you think we should help Kitana first? Before we start creating legitimate conversations?â Kitana is breathing heavily sitting cross-legged on the marble floor. Her eyes are filled with tears, I pace over to her slowly. As if she was a dangerous animal. First reptile⊠Now NightWolf? I kneel over to her. To see if she was able to speak to me. âAre you⊠Okay?â she screams at me: âIâm fine!â I jolt backwards. I stand back up and brush the wood shavings off my clothes. âExcuse me.â I get Kano and Raidenâs attention: âKitana is mentally unstable.â Kano and Raiden say at the exact same time: âSo?â my eyes widen: âHow can you just stand there and do nothing?â Kano protests: âIâm sitting here.â I face-palm; my voice darkens: âCan I at least take her somewhere?â Raiden explains where I can take her: âTake her to the garden area, outside. Itâs where she is most of the time.â I thank Raiden for actually giving me some advice. I walk over to Kitana, (who is drowning in her own tears
âand try to carry her. I pick her up by holding the back of her legs and neck. She wearily says: âThank you Shujinko.â I smile and take off back through the entrance: âShujinko!â I stop in my tracks. Kano is holding the heavy bar of steel. âTake this with you: Itâs your eh⊠âHome workââ I grab the heavy bar of steel and sprint back where I was headed. About half way to the garden I start panting; my assignment isnât helping me get to my destination. I was thinking about leaving it behind. But I thought it would be important, to see Raiden here made me happy, he let me join him. He let me⊠Help. I ran: I felt determination. I didnât slow down after that. Before I knew it; I was in the garden. It was almost as beautiful as Kitana. It had a âYing-Yangâ sand pit with a rake for the leaves. Pot plants of various shapes and sizes, a lake with statues, stone path. It was really decorative. I place her on the grass. She was unconscious. I donât know why. From crying? Her face was pale and she was taking short breathes. Then it occurred to me. She was under the plague.
Chapter 10: Saving Kitana and Destroying Shao-Kahn
She wasnât feeling very well, itâs probably why she was threating to kill me; and she was being punished by Shao-Kahn. Her father. What kind of father would do such a thing? Merging the realms. What a stupid idea. Then another thing occurred to me. What if I form a team, a team of the best fighters to join me; maybe we can defeat Shao-Kahn. Stop this monstrosity from merging the realms and get Earthrealm back! I lay her to rest. As I pace back slowly to where I came; Raiden approaches me. I bow before Raiden. Is walking next to Noob Saibot. âRaiden, I ask of a favourâ Raiden and Noob laugh heartily. âWhatâs so funny?â I ask -as I scrunch a weak fist. âOh nothingâ A cloud of green smoke surrounds Raiden. Then Shang-Tsung appears. âShang-Tsung? You poisoned Kitana?! Why?â Shang-Tsung changes the subject: âItâs 2.00 oâ clock Shujinko; itâs time for a tournament. Noob opens a portal through the ground and a tall man appears. Wearing a beaded vest of pattern colours, long black tracksuit pants with dirt on the bottom, black hair, a red headband and red and white face battle paint. Shang-Tsung makes a calm approach: âNightWolf!â I have never been more surprised in my life: âNightWolf, where have you been all this timeâ âBecoming one with the Spirit! And you have been destroying, so I will destroy you, for the sake of the nature being safe once again!â âThe spirit of the forests! NightWolf, donât fight me, Iâm not your enemy!â I plead, NightWolf disagrees: âYou are wrong, you will die!â green tomahawks appear out of nowhere, I realise I am still holding the bar of metal; NightWolf lunges, unafraid to split my head open. I flinch and swing it, hoping I stopped his attack. I hear a CLUNK sound; I still keep my eyes closed and keep beating the man as if he were a big fleshy piñata. I open my eyes, NightWolf looks exactly like what happed to Reptile, except if Reptile was bludgeoned and had ânormalâ blood. Brain and ribcage exposed, Bruises and cuts I look at the bloody bar of steel, it has a tip, and a handle. I was holding a sword, I wasnât using it correctly. But it did the job all right! I lost my adrenaline, I was tired. I was mad, I was upset. I wanted to help Kitana, I wanted to save Earthrealm, and I wanted to help Raiden⊠Raiden⊠Shang-Tsung: âShang Tsung.â Shang-Tsung is behind me: âI order you to take me to Raiden.â Shang-Tsung Protests: âWhy on earth would I want to do that?â âBecause Iâm going to defeat Shao-Kahn.â[/details]
