Ask TFB To Criticize

TFB called me and told me to tell you that he says that song is perfect. He hurt his fingers in a Thumb Wrestling Competition and could not type… he dialed my number with his elbows…

Good effort 2/10.
I’ve been busy for a few weeks but I can try to put some critiques up. Sorry about the wait.

-Tfb 2014.

Okay, so here is an exception to “I won’t ask you to criticize until I make another finished song friggin poop stuff”.
So…
Pls criticize this and I will let you into the big kids section at the park.
By the way, I will not be editing anything from that song until v3 is released.
And use the old player.

Thoughts on Frozen?

To Apoco:
I’m guessing you set this song up in a series of parts? I’ll try my best. Most of this is stream-of-consciousness.
Awake:
Starts off rather nice. Sheet 0 measure 30, that violin B doesn’t play well with that A :< I like the fading effects, in both players (but you said old player so i guess old player kk).
Prepare:
Everything sounds great in Sheet 2 except the drums. Sorry they just didn’t work. Sheets 3-4 is okay, but the end of the riff pattern is weird. Sheet 11 it’s nice and all but that piano came a little abrupt, but I like the simple drum pattern. Piano works nicely with the melody. Bass drum is really lacking any feeling.
Onward:
I like how the guitar works with the drums to be honest. The panning effects seem nice. Dat guitar was bad. Gotta be blunt, was too cluttered and the intervals just didn’t work. Sheet 17, I like the drumming. The strats and electric guitar fit well together, but the electric piano was kinda weird, didn’t really work. I see what you were going for. The electric guitar in 23 was pretty great actually.
Conflict:
Super weird transition didn’ work at all. Fading effects got way worse. No bass, but you got guitar drums going. Sounded like it needed more. Sheet 28 Riff, however, is good. But the strat fade effect in the background still seems weird. Transition into sheet 30 was good for what it was, and everything fits together in that, especially the chords in the background. Sheet 35 was a waste, remove it.
Opposition:
Another abrupt transition. Definitely didn’t work. I see what you are going for here, but the strat is really making the effect really bad. If you removed just that, the entire sound of this section would be amazing. The melodies here are truly amazing.
Losing Battle:
I actually enjoyed this transition. Much better than some of the others. Also a return to Awake, with the violins. That’s not bad, and I actually really like it. It’s kinda like a trance feeling, and the strat in the background bodes well here. The violin playing high has a nice melody, but should be more smooth (make lengths longer). Sheet 48 pls.
This song has some really nice textures and melodies, but the strats in certain parts and transitions took on a number on the atmosphere.
3.5/5

Simple Techno Song:

I mean the backbeat isn’t bad, but it didn’t need the entire song. Also, you should avoid switching instruments off lead so suddenly. Some of the melodies are actually really cool, like in Sheet 4, but you only have a bass/lead setup. Needs some background, chord, harmony, etc.

Just For Fun 3:
just for fun i think im gonna just say dissonance and kinda weird and a little short and i guess what im trying to say is that this run-on sentence is making me remember to breathe but anyways i mean this is kinda okay for a little bit but its really short why do you ask this of me.

On Frozen:
I’ve never watched it. All I hear is people singing shit melodies about some fucking snowman building contest or something.

Also, there, I updated. Happy?
pls submit moar

Hey thanks, it’s been a while since I even touched that song, and now that I look back on it, it is quite cringeworthy. I should’ve worked harder on it then.

Only cringeworthy cause hindsight. I actually liked some of the sections.

Criticize this slightly unfinished collab with QVX

The song has a strange feeling to it. It really really really needs more bass, but there’s no bassline except for that strat, but it doesn’t seem to work like a bassline. The entire song kinda feels like it needs to sped up. 120 bpm does not fit well. Also, the strats need some serious volume changes. The lower notes need to be louder; that’s why the beginning sounds so weird.

Church Glockenspiel:
Hate the name.
The entire song should be slower.
The tubular bells should be removed.
The glock and organ combo sounds pretty nice, but still slow it down, and perhaps make the organ quieter.
Extend it, its not a full length “song” yet.

What I’ve Done:
it’s covered so many goddamn times
