Let's Make A Story!

I thought, “Talk about what?” Reynie could see I was nervous, “Oh, it’s nothing.” I was still scared.

I looked back at the two girls, confused. “Relax, he’s a cool guy,” said Kate. I sure hope you’re right, I thought.

We walked down about four doors in the hall and went inside what I assumed was Constance’s room. It was a disaster! Clothes and toys were everywhere, most of the drawers were wide open, and the bed was nowhere near made. The others just cleared a spot to sit down as if this was all natural.

I crouched down and sat near a wrinkled pair of underwear. “Does anyone clean up around here?”

'Oh, Number Two tries to get Constance to clean up, but she always refuses. She says it’s more fun to watch Number Two do it," Kate said.

“Number Two?” I echoed.

“The one who wears all yellow and has red hair. Even though she and Connie girl are sisters, they don’t get along too well,” Kate said, ignoring a glare from Constance.

“Well, anyway, let’s get to the point,” I said, disregarding the fact that the pencil woman was Constance’s sibling. I turned to Reynie. “What did you want to tell me?”

Constance snickered, interrupting Reynie as he was about to begin. “He said point,” she said, smiling. Kate groaned. “Anyway, I’m sure you remember the Emergency, right?” Reynie asked me.

“Which emergency? I wasn’t really involved in many emergencies,” I replied, confused by the subject.

“Well, it was in all the papers… you don’t read the newspaper, do you?” Reynie asked me.

I shook my head no.

“Well, that probably means you spend most of your free time in front of the TV, or listening to the radio, right?”

“Yeah, I guess so,” I replied. “Sometimes, I play Solitaire.”

“It’s not much, but I guess it gets my mind off things.”

“Did you ever feel a bit nauseous while watching your television or using your electronic devises?” Sticky said, who then started to polish his spectacles.

“Nauseous? Not once. Not even while I was having lunch.”

“Hmm…so does this mean that you noticed that there were missing people, or did you just think they were on a vacation or something?” Sticky asked again.
