Well since no-one has replied yet I guess I’ll reply with the description that I couldn’t put in last night because of Xfire (won’t go into anymore details but you should have been there ). Anyway I found this song totally dead in my cookies and decided to continue it. Yeah I guess it’s quite a repetitive piece of crap but it’s still worth a listen because it’s not a bad song. I began work on sheet 19, which originally only had an acoustic guitar on it. From there on I decided to basically solo and then have a single comeback chorus before the end. Personally I like the bass the most about this song, just cause. But you guys will probably like my piano solo the best, it seems I have a knack for them, what which Lay of the Soldier and Glory’s Road and now this.

So yeah, I hope at least someone will comment, because it’s going to be put near the top on my thread, just in my own opinion.

Hmm. I like the solos. The first riff was good, but I didn’t like the second riff from sheet 2. It was better than you made it sound though. And does this mean that the share bug is gone?

I have a couple things to say here. 1) Since I usually visit your thread just to listen to songs, I figured I would come to your thread and post. 2) Voyage to the Unknown is great! I loved it. 3) I got a question. Does composing come naturally to you or do you just get lucky?

VttU is good … but it just doesn’t have any of those catchy riffs that A Building Full of Experiments and A Soft Interlude have.

I’ll answer Slip’s questions in order:

  1. Hooray for nercoposting! At least it wasn’t me…lol
  2. Yeah I loved making it, but I agree with Muse on ABFoE and ASI. The main part I liked about VttU was it’s drumming and the solos.
  3. The only song I considered myself “lucky” would be Saga of the Dragon. Unlike most of my other songs, I simply composed it off the top of my head and just kept adding to it, but it really wasn’t great until the solo, in which I discovered panning and arpeggios. For every other song, I would say inspiration is a natural thing to me, writing songs is a lot easier when you have something visual to see, and I am not too great at drumming.

In my own opinion, I would consider you the best composer here. I like Roast, but ID was a collab and I don’t count collabs. The songs you made by yourself are completely incredible. I think that’s all I have to say.

Two great things happened at the time of this post. KD is checking my thread (BEGS FOR REPLY) and I just noticed Glories Road has two votes.

I am making songs, it’s just that most of them fall through and I don’t like posting in the unfinished songs thread. You guys will just have to wait until I find motivation and inspiration enough to actually finish something good. The problem is this: I get into a song and I think “Wow this is great. Gonna be one of my best.” And then I start adding and as I listen to it over and over I feel the quality drops and i don’t want to post a bad song…even when the song is brilliant…

I’d also like to state something about the poll. Gateway is at the top (as voted by you guys at 4 votes) and I’ll be changing my methods. Instead of a general songs poll, I’ll simply put the question “Should ‘insert newest song here’ replace ‘insert top rated song here’ as my best as voted by you guys?” with the choices yes and no, and the new song will have to get more votes than the last song did (I.E. even if the majority of you think it should, if the margin is 4 or less, it won’t happen). The reasons? It seems no song on there is going to get more than four votes, so they are all now out of the running as of this post. When I post a new song, I’ll reset the poll.

I hate doing covers. It always leaves feeling disappointed that it’s not my own work, and it never seems to be perfect. Oh well, this one only took 4 hours to make. And although there are probably 20 Notessimo versions of this song already, I’ll give you my take on the famous: Dr. Wily Stage 1 theme

Intro is mine, though it’s basically the main melody slowed down. Take it out for infinite loop.

Oh and also, I’ll take care of my own thread. If you see a spam bot post in my thread, just leave it please. If it seems like I’m never around and no one is posting in the thread anymore, go ahead and lock it.

Also, should I bump the Mega-Man thread with this? There are already a few versions on it.

Oh, and the reason the poll isn’t reset with this song is because it’s a cover. I’ll only allow fully original songs to be voted on.
