QVX 797's Song Thread <<NEW: Home Stretch>>

Nope, and thanks, ill fix it again soon

E to F is not just a second, its aa minor second, which is considered the second to most dissonant interval.

Yes ixsetf, but QVX said he wasn’t good at theory so I simplified it. Anyway both major/minor seconds sound horrible.

someone should show QVX the circle of fifths, that really simplified everything for me when I first saw it.

Oh i should probably ask…by second you mean?

Oh sorry, seconds are intervals. An interval is just a name for the gap between two notes.
A - B = second
B - C = second
C - D = second
E - F = second
F - G = second
G - A = second
See? When you play these pairs of notes together they create a second.

Oh i know which bit your meaning now
Edit: Fixed
Technicality

MuseX Productions once again brings to you, another awesome collab/song!!!
Neoteric Flow

Okay I hold everything in my other review to be true. If you haven’t read the one in Muse’s thread, I would rather you read it first.

First off, the intro is unfitting. It’s not a bad intro, even if it is a bit progressive. But when the song picks up in sheet 5, I just wonder how the rest of the song relates to the intro. Could be a lot worse, as I found the bass riff to be fun and great in it’s simplicity.

Now I want to speak to QVX. As I said before, the drumming was underpowered. Other than that, I found the fills to be a little uncreative with the toms. There quite a few glorious parts, Sheet 17 (and any like it), and I really loved the ending a lot. Also, I really liked the sped up trumpet part of the song, sheet 22, because the song here was jumpy and happy and the drumming follow suit, which is what I wanted. For the rest of the song, the drums, even considering how fast they were, couldn’t keep up with the more powerful instruments. Also I have a question, which is spawned from your reputation. Besides the drumming, what else did you write in the song?

Okay back to the song. My favorite instrument throughout was the Rock Organ. Yeah the bass was a major focus point of the song and all but it didn’t add as much to the atmosphere as the organ, which is why it’s my favorite instrument (no I’m not biased). Seriously, what was the metal guitar even doing in this song? It was fine without. Also, I had a personal dislike of the piano in this song, I just think it would’ve been better an octave down and maybe as a different instrument.

Overall, the song wasn’t bad. As random as it seems it actually did have a couple staples that are hit on more than once in the song. And although I felt the breaks in the song were a little too much and too often, they did help to give me a break and a chance to catch myself on the incredible riffs. And I really do love the bassline, despite the fact that even it gets an overpowered part near the end. I did like how smooth the ending was. So yeah I think I will upgrade my earlier rating to a 4.2/5, giving it an overall rating of 8.1/10. Not too shabby, considering my expectations.

Thank you for this criticism, it is greatly appreciated as it will help us improve our songs in the future…and i’m sure there will be another

That was my fault…i convinced Muselline that this intro was fine… Not completely your fault… I thought it was ok too. But I could have worked on it more.

See, what happened was that i started with drumming at 100%, then it was advised that it was a tad lower (60%) so i continued with that…this is because in overcome, “the drums were way too loud and ruined the song”…really, the piano was still twice as loud! Because of that, i let Muselline pick the volume of the drums since my previous assumption of the volume was wrong. I think the imbalance of both the melody and the drums may have been due to muselline’s 1 ear headphones (1 was broken). It may have been cause by simple miscommunication as i had no idea until the end that Muselline had broken headphones… When did I say that about Overcome? Also I did say “the drums were good … but they’re all kinda quiet”.

Thanks for your review, Star! 4/5 is an incredible score from you. I don’t know why I put the metal guitar in really, especially since the conscription thread. The piano was kinda high.

Karo and I are proud to publish:
Rebellious Machinery =D

I really liked that! Good work guys! (Maybe this could end up being featured?)

I was thinking that…but i already sent 2 in recently

No fair QVX… I wish people would send me in songs do just do drums D:
I could play with drums forever, since they are the funnest to work with

Excuse me? LOL you think i did all the drumming, LOL let alone much of it.

Who did what drumming:
Scourge - Chorus (since it was his original idea, we used it and created a song out of it (it was originally to help me understand what he was teaching me better))
Verses - Karo
Chorus Breakdowns - QVX

I helped a lot with editing and moving things around as well as lengthening the song using the base melody.

Oh, and I suggested only doing the drumming to both Muselline AND ixsetf, i requested the collabs, they didn’t ask me…

Oh, and while i’m at it, I started another collab XD
Muselline, you will never keep up with all my collabs muahahahahahahahahaha.

D: I fell so pathetic not working on anything.

We could always start another XD
Believe it or not, but for all of my collabs, i’m waiting on a response XD

Important Announcement: (if you care about me and this thread…lol)
K, as you probably might know…i will be going on exchange to Sweden (for 6 months) 10 days from now…this means:
-I won’t be as active around the site.
-I won’t be able to work on songs as fast.
-I might not be commenting on threads etc. as much.
I am saying this because i have about 5 active collabs and only 1 person is currently replying -.-
You are running out of time!!
Now is your last chance to productively continue the collabs, otherwise its going to be a long time before they are finished.
Oh, and i may have a little surprise for everyone when i leave…
