Oh, yeah! I never noticed diminished chords have tritone…Maybe metal uses a lot of dim chords?
TBH they are pretty rubbish chords :L other then for transitions
I generally avoid all aug/dim chords.
I’ve never used the before, but I’ve seen them be used really well. I’m not good enough for them.
I’ve used them once, but otherwise they end in failure.

Also I am back, I wrote a giant essay about why I left and came back but it took so long to write it logged me out and I lost it all when I tried to post it
the main points of the essay:
I am in AP Music Theory
I will become awesome at music because of it
I will be writing more prog
I developed ways to make stuff sound more realistic on Notessimo
I developed a music theory specific for metal.
I gained back my inspiration
I left because of the annoying metal guitar, no access to a not super slow computer, and lack of inspiration
I will be picking up previous collabs

No, really, It just depends on how analytical you are towards it, and which rules you should apply. I didn’t really do that, so it wasn’t until AFTER I finished the class that I figured out all the rules that I use.
EDIT: SONG: Wow, you’re getting pretty good at melody lines! I liked how the bass wasn’t as sporadic as most of your work… I think? Maybe I’m seeing things… The drums weren’t as advanced as a lot of your work, but I think it fits well with the type of song. 5/5 would listen again.
I figured out how to write like that before I left, and I wrote 3 riffs like that in odd time signatures yesterday because I read a page long description of time signatures divide their beats.
