So here is how to improve your soon-to-be finished cover.
- (VITAL) IF YOU ARE GOING TO REPEAT THE SAME DAMN 64 MEASURE LONG RIFF 4 TIMES… ADD SOME GOD DAMN FLAVOR
- Learn to use the sheet system thingy… IT CAN SAVE YOUR LIFE (at least 6 hours of it anyway )
DO NOT EVER DO THIS. EVER. I made the mistake of doing this in one of my first songs. If you think about it, you’re doing about 4x more work if you don’t add it immediatly with the sheet system and not only that but if you mess up once it will throw your whole song off.
The thing is…this song repeats itself over…and over…and over. The only part that doesn’t repeat itself is the main gutiar, so I’ll be doing the song in the order i specified: bass, drums, and then the lead. I understand how to use that sheet system thing, but now I’m gonna re-do More than a feeling because when I started the new sheet, I had to change the note lengths from 24 to 16 and 8, which halts the flow of good music. And rofl, I just posted under the Sax guy, I believe his name is mouse. He’s posted one other time than that first post of his, and that was to gloat about how he won you over so fast.
Edit: Do you see what I’m saying? If I added every part in at once, I would have to redo the same parts because I can’t re-copy the lead, since it does change. But everything else doesn’t. So I should be okay as long as I put the bass on layer 4 and drums on layer 5.
When I said this, I meant like tell me if I should use a different instrument instead of the strat guitar, or what snare drum to use. Still open!
UPDATE on Free Bird: I just finished the background chords! Phew! On to the bass. Also, I’m not going to keep posting the song until it’s done, like a LOT of people do, the only reason my other post has it in it is so you guys can give me some support on what I should change before the song’s done.
Okay, I can’t contain myself. At about 4:45, or almost 1 hour and 30 minutes after finishing the chords, I finished the first half of the bass! (which is to say ALL the parts before the solo) YAY!
Wow, quadruple post. Because your new I’ll just tell you. Please edit your posts and don’t quadruple post. Even double posts are considered a lot.

EDIT: I desperatly hope that the synth bass is the right choice, it sounds good on it’s own, but now you can tell it’s a synth, and this song is a far cry from synth. Oh well, there are a lot of parts that bass #4 would’ve failed because the longest note duration it can hold at 120 bpm is a half note, and the slow part of the song’s at 240 bpm. With all of the whole notes here, it would’ve mega-failed.
UPDATE: I just finished the bass. (which is now my favorite part) Ask me if you want to hear the preview so far and I’ll PM you. But once I start the drums i won’t be PMing anyone anymore. Now I’m gonna eat lunch.

It seems there is some good in the fact that my computer crashed. I was able to re-download a trial version of Guitar Pro, which I need to have the drum tabs (as there are none actually on the internet) and downloaded the Free Bird Guitar Pro and found that it had an element I wasn’t planning on adding: Vocals! Yay! now I’ll be adding that in as well!
UPDATE: I just finished the drums…Dang that was hard! I starting to believe Roastmaster’s telling me I was wrong to take things by layers, as the copy thingy sucks. It added about 1-3 hours of work for me.
This will be my last update until the end of the song: I finished the vocals.

Believe it or not… I have that saved on my computer, all finished, just missing the drums. I should actually get around to that (damn my procrastination)
EDIT: Sad news… apparently it’s been lost when my browser decided to wipe out all my songs last time It’s most likely in the browse section… not very recent though. (And most likely labeled as "Unnamed Song by Unknown too)
Funny have you ever noticed that a main part of the intro for samus aran and alot of the song for the airship theme sound almost exactly the same…
I will make the James bond theme (request posted way back there). I should know how to make it since i play it on piano.

I have a Request that is not a song (seeing as this thread is not specifically named for songs and there isn’t a thread for my question). Anyway, I’m about to finish Free Bird and am asking a Moderator if I should make a thread for my own songs once I finish. Please note that I will be releasing my newest song in the new thread as well, which puts my total up to 4 songs once I finish Free Bird.
Everyday I don’t recieve a reply to my request on page 17 i will bump this thread. BUMP!
