Because Guitar Pro kicks ass. You should get the full version from a torrent like I did.

I already have power tab, and the Free Bird on it is amazing! PROBLEM! no drums, (and go look it up, there’s not a single drum tab on the internet that’s outside of something like Guitar Pro), plus the Free Bird on Guitar Pro has a singer, and the opening piano.
What do you mean? the tabs come from ultimateguitar.com or other sites, so you can get both of the free bird tabs for either.
Ah, but not drums or vocals! Did you even look it up? I’d like to point out that just having the words doesn’t count as vocals on this site, you need the melody. As far as I know, Ultimate Guitar didn’t do drum tabs until very recently, so I doubt too many songs even have a drum tab on that specific site. I go to Ttabs for drum tabs. Jeez, this conversation is pointless, as I have both the drum and vocal tabs.
What do you mean? I thought people uploaded the tabs? I have songs with vocals, guitar, bass, and drums on them.

Listen carefully: THERE ARE NO DRUM TABS FOR FREE BIRD JUST FLOATING ON THE INTERNET. VOCALS AREN’T TABS, ALL YOU CAN GET ARE THE WORDS THEMSELVES, NOT THE PITCH.
The only drum tabs that I know of are those that are written with Guitar Pro.
Starwars, if you get Guitar Pro (version 5.2 at least) somehow cough thepiratebay.org, download this tab. It’s a perfect (or as close as perfect can be) tab for Free Bird, every instrument and vocals included.

I don’t mean to be a dick now–you know it’s quite out of character for me to be abrasive in any way–but exactly how is borrowing/referencing/stealing from these guitar pro tabs not exactly the same fucking thing as what the much-maligned DarkDave64 did? Is it just location, location, location? Also, Free Bird is overrated.

The difference between taking tabs of the internet and TRANSCRIBING it here is exactly that. What DD24 did was take songs made here and re-posted them here as HIS songs. What a cover on this site normally does is take the song and remake it on here. Whoever did it doesn’t claim it as theirs, and neither do the people who tabbed it on Guitar Pro.

I think you misunderstand me. I’m speaking of plagiarism of the tabber. In most cases, the original artist is well know, and I’m pretty sure every knows what a cover is; I’d be quite baffled if someone tried to pass off Enter Sandman as their own original work. However, unless you’re crediting the guy who tabbed the shit you just “transcribed,” what is the difference between that and pasting your name on the browse page? Is it that becuase it wasn’t said tabbers’ own original work that you are free to rip him off as much as you please, because, c’mon, that douchebag only did all of the work for you, but you still could’ve done it yourself if you wanted to?
