It’s not just sheet 6 though. The beginning of sheet 2, all of sheet 4, sheet 5 and sheet 6.
I would just redo sheet 3 and take away the last three sheets.
Am I being too critical?
And for reference, F minor has Bb, Eb, Ab, Db.

I think that quite a lot trust me i do…but you have made good compositions, you’ve had a featured song and all, that doesn’t happen for nothing you know…you have talent TFB, but you still have room for improvement…if i had your attitude, i would’ve just stayed out of this thread…also, it just looks like your trying to take over this (IT SEEMS) with the whole 3 sheets add-on bit…considering everyone agreed with the ONE sheet. Just follow the set rules instead of breaking them and trying something new…make something SIMILAR (not copy pasted) to the rest of the song…i know you can do it, so try again and make an epic continuation
I’ve referred back to your post numerous times to check myself
I still think we should do it my way. (No list, people post when they want to edit.)
the way it is is fine, everybodys reluctancy to allow it to run smoothly is the problem
Okay, I’m back. I guess I’ll try again. No promises though on how long it will take.
Oh thank god! I couldn’t get anything done on it ![]()
I’m 100% unsure about what I’m supposed to do. I don’t know if I should make a part after it sounding almost exactly like the other part, except a different melody, or make something completely out of nowhere. Clarify please.
I’m calling it: Everyone’s going to tell you to make something that you think sounds good, or something along those lines.
Eh, most of you will probably hate my addition anyway…Oh well. I tried. I couldn’t figure out anything else to add on besides Star’s part edited, so I did just that. If you want to go off on some banter about how I didn’t spend any time on this and I didn’t try, well, I spent about 5 hours straight on it. About 3 hours was just figuring out what to do. So hate me for it. If it floats your boat.
In my mind, it sounds good to me, but the key is SOOO dissonant, I can’t even make out the melody well in anybody’s part.
lol melodies nope
Your part is great and fits in with the song.
Wait a minute.
…F MINOR…
There was not a melody yet at all, at least one that I could hear. And what do you mean by dissonant [sorry music theory retard] because it sounds absolutely normal…
The thing is that DD12 and I’s parts are, well, off-key but Star{'s following Sheet} fixed that. Yet you went with going for the key DD presented.
Whatever, a good add is a good add, but how the fuck will Kammy go? With Star’s F Minor or whatever DD, TFB, and I did?
F minor F minor F minor F minor F minor F minor
Please.
I thought the strings were a little loud at parts of your additions TFB, but other then that I liked it.
EDIT: Oh, and Octo, I never touched your sheet, and only edited the first measure in DD’s sheet ![]()
The song sounds very dissonant. Also if we know what chords we used we should post them to make it easier for the next person.
The base chord progression I used for sheet 3 is Bb Minor, Ab Major, Db Major, F minor. It’s easier to see in layer 3, where the tuba is clearly playing the chords in single, long held-out notes.
Edit: Also, ill be going for F Minor (or whatever it is) because i don’t have a clue what key you guys were using… star’s key has 2 posts i can fall back on ![]()
iv, III, VI, i? Okay then…
Lolwut?
…someone just write out which notes to use so its not confusing…
(like A, B, Cb etc…)
But what form of F minor is it in? D:
I don’t get too involved with theory, it always feels like an inhibitor. I just used the basic majors and minors, nothing added. As nice as it would be to know everything about music, there’s a creative side to it that can’t be taught, you learn it from your own experiences composing. That’s my philosophy on the art of composition and I’m sticking to it.
The key is F, G, Ab, Bb, C, Db, Eb, F.
The four chords I used were:
Bb minor: Bb-Db-F
Ab major: Ab-C-Eb
Db major: Db-F-Ab
F minor: F-Ab-C
I used the base notes of each chord to structure the bass and metal guitar, and the only real deviation from the chord progression is the main melody, which means that although my sheet has a lot more going on, it’s actually a lot simpler than Octo’s and DD’s sheets respectively.
Now, can we leave the music theory debate to rest and get back to composing? I’m already getting ansty about adding on to the song and I just had a turn…
