Not to mention Prime 3. Speaking of which I have a few things to say about Metroid:
Last night I was up a little later than usual and so I decided to check out the Nintendo Channel, which to people who don’t have a Wii, it’s basically a gaming news type thing. Most of the time, it shows a bunch of bull crap games that no one is going to buy, but last night it was different. Last night…I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oLtceC5XWM0.
Before I saw that I didn’t really see Metroid: Other M as a must-have game. It looked okay, but I had played through the entire Metroid Prime Trilogy, and had forgotten how off the beaten path those three games were. I went back on Corruption and quit after about five minutes, the games just weren’t the same. Sure they had metroids, but instead of being incredibly tough, they die in one hit after you get the x-ray visor. And they really weren’t the main focus, just another minor enemy to be defeated along the way. I liked Prime, but after seeing that video I wondered why they changed the story so drastically.
Last night…I got a reminder of why I love the Metroid series so much.
